Harold C. “Hal” Rasmussen, age 88 of Greeley, CO, passed away at 1:47 am on Saturday, August 5, 2017 in Greeley, CO. He was born on October 3, 1928 in South Bend, IN, the son of Henry Carl and Myrl (Hammond) Rasmussen.
Hal served in the army during the Korean conflict, then graduated from the University of Illinois. He enjoyed a long career in petroleum exploration.
He loved to sail the great lakes of Michigan, fly recreational aircraft, and follow baseball.
Hal is survived by his children, Beth, Ann, and John Rasmussen of Denver, CO, his step-sons Marc and Matt Williams of Traverse City, MI, 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters Dorothy Clemens and Myrle Ann Anthony, his first wife Charma Clift Rasmussen and his second wife Sally Anne Williams.
Services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, August 26, 2017 at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria, IL. Visitation will begin 1 hour prior to the service. Pastor Matthew Thiner will officiate. Interment will be in the Ipava Cemetery with military rites provided by the Ipava American Legion. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Ipava American Legion.
