Stawanna M. Goforth
Lewistown- Stawanna M. Goforth, 82, of Lewistown, passed away at 3:48 AM Wednesday February 8, 2017 at OSF St Francis Medical Center.
She was born May 20, 1934 at Sparta, WI; the daughter of C. Scott and Frances (Wieland) Thomson. She married Roy T. Goforth on May 20, 1955 at Lewistown. He died February 9, 1988. She was also preceded in death by her parents, and one son, David Goforth. Surviving in one son, Charles “Chuck” Goforth of Lewistown, two step children, Rebecca (Emmanuel) Chauncy of Belleview, FL; and Gregory Goforth of Columbia, IL; eight step grandchildren, four step great grandchildren, and three step great great grandchildren, one brother, Lester (Judy) Thomson of Lincoln, and one sister, Wanda (Dale) Romine of St. Charles, MO.
Stawanna was a registered nurse, graduating from Graham Hospital School Of Nursing in 1955. She had worked as a nurse at Graham Hospital, Mason District Hospital, and Clayberg Nursing Home. She was also a volunteer counselor at the Crisis Pregnancy Center Center in Canton for 14 years. She was a member of the Crossroads Free Methodist Church in Lewistown.
Services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday at Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown, where visitation will be held one hour prior to services. Reverend Larry Wright will officiate and burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Crossroads Free Methodist Church or Spoon River Pregnancy Resource Center.
