Helen Bradford

Helen Bradford, 96, of Macomb, IL, passed away at 9:30 am on Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at Wesley Village in Macomb. She was born on September 11, 1920 in Canton, IL, the daughter of Lamon and Merlie (Smith) Spencer. Helen married Jack Bradford on February 28, 1940 in Kahoka, MO. He preceded her in death in August of 1997.

Also preceding her in death is her infant son, Jerry Bradford, grandson, Shane Bradford and 2 brothers, Everett and Carl Spencer.

Survivors include her son, Gary (and Carol) Bradford of Sparland, IL, daughter, Donna (and Norman) Gibboney of Astoria, IL, 5 grandchildren, Shawn (and Donna) Bradford, Shan Bradford-Waid, Jackie Gibboney, Rebecca (and Eldon) Schisler and Chris (and Laura) Gibboney, 10 great-grandchildren, Christen (and Brian) Parks, Colten Bradford, Jordan Bradford, Emmaline and Lucy Waid, Jacob, Josh and Justin Schisler, Jamoson and Jackson Gibboney and 1 great-great-granddaughter, Delaney Parks.

Helen was homemaker and a farmer’s wife.

She was a graduate of Bardolph High School in 1938. She was a 50 year member of the Ipava Order of the Eastern Star, where she was a Past Worthy Matron. Helen also loved being a farm wife and being able to help others in crises.

Private services will be held. Pastor Cody Stinnett will be officiating. Interment will be in Point Pleasant Cemetery. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
