James R. "Jimi" Rogers
Canton – Jimi Rogers, 59, of Canton passed away at 6:33 pm, Sunday, February 19, 2017 at the Graham Hospital in Canton. He was born on March 2, 1957 in Canton to George and Ellen Rogers. Jimi married Kim Mummert on February 12, 1992 in Canton. She survives along with four children; Jeremy (Emily) Rogers, Kimberly (Kimi) Rogers, Zachary Rogers and Aubrey Rogers all of Canton, two brothers; Barry Rogers of Germantown Hills and Roy Rogers of Peoria, four grandchildren; Addison Rogers, T.J. Mayberry, Ella Rogers and Trinity Friedrich, twin great-grandchildren on the way and several nieces and nephews. He was also very close to his beloved dog, Coco. Jimi was preceded in death by his parents.
Jimi worked as a self-employed mechanic and a musician. He played in Alter Ego and many other bands over the last 40 plus years. He had a passion for classic hot rod cars and liked to buy and restore them. Jimi’s hobbies included building trains and model cars. He really enjoyed spending time with his children and grand-children.
Services will be 2 pm Friday, February 23, 2017 at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton, where visitation will be from 5-7 pm, Thursday. Burial will be in Trivoli Cemetery in Trivoli, IL. To view Jimi’s DVD or to leave online condolences, please visit www.oakshinesfuneralhome.com.
