Canton
– Floyd L. Stees, 93, of Canton, passed away on Tuesday, March 29, 2016, at the
Sunset Manor in Canton.
He
was born on September 9, 1922 in Steamboat Springs, Colorado to Ruben and Floy
(Logan) Stees. They preceded him in
death.
He
married Helen Eileen Meins on May 7, 1946 in Kansas City, Missouri. She survives.
Also
surviving are his children, Don Stees of Canton, Patty (Jim) Windish of
Elmwood, grandchildren, Angie (Kevin) Tippey, Brett (Jasmin) Stees, Dr. Ryan
(Gia) Windish, Tiffany (Simon) Grimm and great grandchildren, Pierson Stees,
Jack Tippey and Kiowa Windish.
Floyd
served in the U.S. Army during WWII and returned to work as a Union Carpenter
for Vern Garrett Construction in Canton and later for Fox Construction in
Galesburg, retiring in 1985. He was a
member of the 1st Presbyterian Church in Canton and the Canton
American Legion.
A
funeral service will be held at 11 am, on Friday, April 1, 2016, at the
Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton with a visitation 1 hour prior at the funeral
home.
Burial
will be at the Prairie Rest Cemetery in Delavan.
Memorials
may be made to the 1st Presbyterian Church in Canton.
