Dr. Marlow Hauber, 94, passed away at his residence in Fort Myers, Florida, on Thursday, March 24, 2016.
He was born on March 17, 1922 in Canton, Illinois, to Walter and Dena Hauber. Dr. Hauber was proceeded in death by his parents and two brothers Darwin and Walter Hauber. He is survived by his wife Eileen, and two children,Mark (Ellyn) Hauber of Chicago, Illinois, Nancy Hauber of Fort Myers, Florida, and two Grandchildren, Erika Hauber of Chicago, Illinois, and Erin Hauber of Seattle, Washington.
Dr. Hauber was a lifelong resident of Canton, Illinois, graduating from Canton Sr. High School, the University of Illinois and the Northern Illinois College of Optometry. He was a practicing Optometrist in Canton, Illinois, for 41 years.
Dr. Hauber served with the United States Army Air Force in the Pacific Theater during WW II, was member of the First Presbyterian Church, the American Legion, VFW, Moose Lodge, Elks Club, Masonic Lodge, Rotary Club, Canton Chamber of Commerce, the American Optometric Association and the Shriners. He was an avid golfer, pitch player, fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, and University of Illinois athletics. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Fulton County Humane Society.
