Lewistown- William Allen Young, 84, of Lewistown passed away on November 22, 2015 at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born on January 29, 1931 to John and Ida (Nuss) Young in Hastings, Nebraska. They preceded him in death. He is survived by his children, Jerry (Janet) Young of Virden, IL; Rebecca Young of Canton, MO; and Casey (Jane) Young of Washington, IL; two sisters, Barbara (Robert) Gustafson of Princeton, IL; and MaryDell (Jonathan) Schwartz of Loveland, CO; nine grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.
Allen was a U.S. Navy veteran serving as an X-ray technician in the medical corps during the Korean Conflict. Allen operated the Cottonwood Gas Station in Lewistown with his brother-in-law, Pat McKenzie, for 38 years. He enjoyed duck hunting, fishing, and watching the Cubs and Bears. He was an avid golfer and a member of Wee-Ma-Tuk, Canton, and Crane Creek Country Clubs.
Cremation will be accorded. There will be no formal services at this time. The family will plan a celebration of life at a later date. Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown is assisting the family with arrangements. On line condolences may be made at www.henrylange.com.
