Liverpool – Roma D. Painter, 78, of Liverpool, passed away at 1:47 AM on Sunday, November 22, 2015 peacefully surrounded by her family at her residence. She was born on October 19, 1937 to Clifford and Ida (Rilea) Oldham. She married William A. “Mick” Painter on July 7, 1954 in Havana, IL, he survives.
Also surviving are four children, William “Bill” (Patty) Painter of Bath, Rhonda Sheets of Liverpool, Cindy (Bob) Merrill of Canton, and Angie (Larry) Belless of Liverpool; ten grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death are her parents; one granddaughter; one great-granddaughter; one great-grandson; four brothers; and three sisters.
Roma worked at Mason District Hospital for several years and also waitressed for many years at Riverview Inn in Liverpool. She loved to play cards, and spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed gathering with her dear friends once a month for coffee.
Services will be at 1 PM on Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at Murphy-Sedgwick Memorial Home in Canton, where a visitation will be from 11-1 PM. Pastor Brian Ebert will be officiating. Burial will follow services at Liverpool Cemetery in Liverpool, IL. Memorials can be made in care of the family for funeral expenses, Graham Hospital, Graham Hospice, or Renaissance Care Center.
