Canton – Lida M. Banko, 91, of Canton passed away at 7:15 p.m. on Saturday, October 31, 2015 at Heritage Manor in Chillicothe.
She was born April 20, 1924, in Canton to Clyde and Mary Orthalene (Brant) Myers. She married Henry Banko on July 18, 1942, in Bowling Green, MO. He preceded her in death on April 3, 2015.
She is survived by two children, David Banko of Peoria and Darren (Angie) Banko of Muscatine, IA; four grandchildren David, Ryan, Timothy, and Jonathan, one step-grandson Christopher, and two great-grandchildren Malyk and Hadley, one brother, Jack Allen Myers of FL; three sisters, Mary (Aaron) Preese of Peoria, Phoebe Owens of Canton and Joan Hoff of Canton.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers Clyde Myers and John Myers.
Lida was a member and Sunday School teacher for many years at Wesley United Methodist Church in Canton and was a member of the YWCA of Canton. She worked as a clerk at Parlin-Ingersoll Library in Canton for 19 years, retiring in 1983.
Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton is in charge of arrangements.
A graveside service will be held at 11 am, on Thursday, November 5, 2015, at Greenwood Cemetery in Canton.
There will be no visitation.
Memorials may be made to Wesley United Methodist Church.
