She was born in Fairview on February 13, 1915 to Albert Sr. and Blanche (Gourley) Burkiett.
She married Joseph M. “Marvel” Boyce in Fairview on September 21, 1945. He preceded her in death in November 1974.
Surviving are two children Joseph A. Boyce of Canton and Pat (Dennis) O’Donnell of Grand Forks, ND, and one grandson Troy O’Donnell of Grand Forks, ND.
She was preceded in death by two brothers Albert “Fid” Burkiett and Joseph Burkiett.
Marilea was a homemaker and in later years an in- home caregiver.
She was a member of the Fiatt Independent Christian Church and active in it’s ladies aid program.
She enjoyed flower gardening, quilting and needle work.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, May 1 at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton, where visitation will be held one hour prior.
Burial will follow at Coal Creek Cemetery in rural Fairview.
Memorials may be made to Golden Acres Retirement Home resident fund.
