Glenn Siefert

Cuba - Glen R. Siefert, 78, of Cuba, passed away at 6:40 PM Monday April 27, 2015 at his home, to be with the Lord and his family and friends that have gone on before him.
 
He was born October 3, 1936 at DuQuoin, the son of Charles H. and Myrtle (Beard) Siefert. He married Barbara Sue Sisk in 1960. He later married Marilyn (Thompson) Formhals on July 11, 1975 at Havana. She survives along with two children, Wade (Jennifer) Siefert of Dunlap, Jean Ann Siefert of Cuba, three step daughters, Julie (Rick) Burkhead of Cuba, Lorna (Ron) Bixby of Cuba, and Lana Formhals of Cuba, nine grandchildren, Grant, Colin, and Adam Siefert, Courtney (Brandon) Kasemeyer, Elizabeth and Tiffany Stufflebeam, Amanda Burkhead (Fiance Trent Mahr) Darrick Burkhead, Stuart Bixby, and one great granddaughter, Brooklyn Kasemeyer. Also surviving are three sisters, Audrey Taylor Webb, IleneTregoning, and Janet Neville all of DuQuoin, one brother, Donald (Betty) Siefert, and a sister in law, Eileen Siefert ,all of DuQuoin,  one brother in law, Ronald (Marlene) Thompson of rural Canton, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Betty Dolce and Margie Mileur, three brothers, Vern, Charles, and Herschel Siefert, and several special nephews.
 
Glen retired from Freeman United Coal Company after 35 years of service. He also worked a few years for General Motors in St. Louis. Glen served in the US Army from 1959-1965. He was a member of the UMWA, Cuba American Legion, Fox Hunters Association, and the Fiatt Independent Christian Church.
 
Glen was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He loved going home to DuQuoin to be with his family as often as he could. He enjoyed playing cards and hunting with family and friends his whole life. He cared deeply for his friends old and new. He was a jokester and loved to laugh. He will be missed by all who knew him and his dog Daisy Mae.
 
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday at the Fiatt Independent Christian Church with Reverend Jim Menne officiating, with military rites conducted outside the church following the funeral service.  Visitation will be held Wednesday from 5-8 PM at the church. Cremation will be accorded after the services and burial of ashes will be in Cuba Cemetery at 1:00 PM on Sunday May 17th .
