Canton–Moneta M. Morgan, 98, of
Canton, passed away on Thursday, March 19, 2015 at 8:55 pm, at the Renaissance
Care Center in Canton.
She was born on October 4, 1916
in Fulton County to Ross and Marie Chaddock Stufflebeam Brown.
She married William Morgan on
April 10, 1943 in Canton. He preceded
her in death on November 21, 2000.
Surviving are her friends, Toni
Rockhold and Jan Starcevich; cousins Maralyn (Dale) Cleer of Hanna City, David
(Chrystal) Chaddock of Canton, Phillip (Ellen) Chaddock of Peoria, half-sisters
Vaneta Antle of Peoria, JoAnn Johnson of Peoria and half-brother Ronald
Stufflebeam of Bellevue.
She was also preceded in death by
her parents, step-father Allie Brown and half-brother Jerry Stufflebeam.
After graduating from Canton High
School in 1933 she was the secretary to the superintendent of schools for 25
years. Later she worked as a part time
sale clerk at Lee-Rose Ladies Apparel and became their bookkeeper.
Moneta was a lifetime member of
the Beta Psi Chapter, Sigma Phi Gamma Sorority.
She was a member of the Canton Country Club for many years and was a 3
time ladies golf champion.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday,
March 25, 2015 at 11 am at the Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton with a
visitation one hour prior.
Burial will be held at the Greenwood
Cemetery in Canton.
