Jerry Poppleston

Cuba - Jerry Dale Poppleston of Cuba died Friday March 13, 2015 at Heartland of Peoria. He was born September 14, 1944 in Canton to Dorothy (Iunghuhn) Poppleston and Leon Dale Poppleston. He is survived by his sister Lynn (Steve) Clayberg of Cuba, his brother Gordon (Vickie) James of Canton and a nephew Christopher James of Oskaloosa, IA. He was preceded in death by his father, mother and step-father Donald James.

He was a graduate of Cuba High School and the University of Missouri at Rolla with a degree in civil engineering. He worked as a civil engineer for the Illinois Department of Transportation and firms in Peoria and Chicago. He worked several years in the Middle East designing and building infrastructure.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Cuba is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to Grant Keime Memorial.
