She was born January 29, 1921 in Pleasant Township, Fulton County, IL to Harry Edgar and Ora May (Hopping) Malott.
Fern married Gerald William Brown on January 11, 1947 in Lewistown and he died on December 20, 2004.
Also preceding her in death were her parents and one sister, Dorothy L. Drumm.
Surviving are 3 daughters, Betty Jean Brown of Perkinston, MS, Beverly Kay Harness of Lees Summit, MO, and Gerri Sue Brown of Springfield, MO; 2 grandchildren, Tabitha Brown and Taylor Harness; 2 step-grandchildren, Chelsea Harness and Maile McCoy; 1 great grandson, William Harness; 4 step great grandchildren; and two sisters, Irene Malott and Gladys Malott both of Canton.
Fern was a seamstress, babysitter, and enjoyed doing handicrafts.
Services will be at 11:00 AM Thursday, March 19th at Murphy-Sedgwick Memorial Home, Canton where visitation will be one hour prior. Jeff Thayer will officiate.
Burial will be in Summum Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
