Shirley Kaye Hallmark, 78, of Kilbourne, formerly of Havana, passed away Wednesday, September 14, 2022. She was born July 21, 1944 to Raymond and Sara (Brown) Gillmore, and was raised in Petersburg. She married Donald Hallmark on September 29, 1961. He preceded her in death.
They were the parents of Bruce (Sue) Hallmark of Havana, Bryan (Monica) Hallmark of Havana, and Kim (Grant) Fornoff of Kilbourne. Shirley also took her brother-in-law, Mike Hallmark, under her wing.
They had 11 grandchildren (Amy, Aaron, Leanne, Christopher, Madison, Jordan, Noah, Patrick, Rachel, Andrew, and Clayton, who preceded her in death.) They also had 11 great-grandchildren (Lilly, Calvin, Harvey, Greyson, Ryleigh, Nova, Weyland, Arleigh, Willow, Aidan, and Celeste, who preceded her in death.)
Shirley had two sisters, Martha Aldrich, who preceded her in death, and Joan Zvanut-Tally.
Shirley had numerous jobs, including the owner of Shirley’s Diner in Kilbourne, and she was a valued employee of Hartung Brothers in Arena, Wisconsin. She also worked at the Mason County Democrat for many years. She loved decorating for Christmas and was an avid Cubs fan. She was an awesome cook.
A visitation will be held at Hurley Funeral Home in Havana on Saturday, September 17, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m. A private family visitation will be held from 9:00 to 10:00 am. Rev. Abraham Mogerman and Grant Fornoff will officiate. Burial will follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Havana.
Memorial donations may be made in Shirley's name to Kindred Hospice. Online condolences can be left for her family at www.hurleyfh.com.
