Richard W. Fisher

Richard W. Fisher, 87, of Astoria, IL, passed away at 12:30 pm on Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at Culbertson Memorial Hospital Emergency Room in Rushville, IL. He was born on December 2, 1934 in Beardstown, IL, the son of Riley M. and Gladys M. (Vaughn) Fisher. Rich married Willa Swan on October 28, 1956 in Beardstown. Willa preceded Richard in death on April 3, 2013.

Also preceding Rich in death, is his grandson, Brandon Welker, granddaughter, Jessica Fisher, sister, Judy Silsby, and 3 brothers, Ron Fisher, Riley Fisher Jr., and Larry Smith Fisher.

Surviving are three sons, Dick (and Linda) Fisher, Hank Fisher, both of Summum, and Joe (and Angie) Fisher, of Astoria; one daughter, Jody Davis of Astoria; 13 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, and one brother, Norm (and Reba) Fisher of Beardstown, IL.

Richard was a farmer and laborer for Pekin 231.

Richard enjoyed coon hunting and was a member of the Coon Hunters Association. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing poker and pitch, and spending time with his kids and grandkids. Richard was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.

Cremations rites have been accorded. Interment will be in the Summum Cemetery at a later date.
