Helen O. Schrimp

Helen O. Schrimp, 101, of Elmwood, passed away at 7:55 p.m., on Sunday, September 18, 2022, at Country Comfort in Elmwood.

She was born December 21, 1920, in Elmwood, to Harley and June (Bandy) Green. They divorced when she was two years old, and she was raised by her mother and maternal grandparents, Robert and Gertrude Bandy. She was the devoted wife of Richard S. Schrimp, whom she married in Elmwood on April 23, 1954. She had worked for several years as a beautician. She was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Elmwood where she sang in the choir and served on the Board of Deacons. She was also a member of the Elmwood Community Chorus and the Elmwood Woman's Club for many years.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, September 23, 2022, at the First Presbyterian Church in Elmwood. A one-hour visitation will be held prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., at the church. Burial will immediately follow the service at Elmwood Township Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Elmwood and the Samaritan's Purse.
