Emily Ann Cleer

Canton- Emily Ann Cleer, 79, of Canton, went to be with the Lord at 6:27 PM on Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at Graham Hospital in Canton. She was born on April 11, 1943 in Troy, New York, a daughter of Harris Martin and Elizabeth (Hardin) Sullivan. She married the love of her life Ray Cleer on July 31, 1976 in Port Washington, Wisconsin. He survives.


Also surviving are one daughter Laura E. (Mark) Flack of Port Washington, Wisconsin; three step-daughters, Cynthia (Mark) Loeffelholz of Springfield, Illinois; Colleen (Rick) Vehovc of Mechanicsburg, Illinois; Crystal (Jeff) Bossaller of Columbia, Missouri; six grandchildren, Jeffery (Mel) Hand of Hornsassa, Florida; Robert Parker of Hudson, Florida; Lucretia (Justin) Herrli of White Pigeon, Michigan; James (April) Parker of Hudson, Florida; Evan Vehovc, and Nicci Vehovc, both of Mechanicsburg, Illinois, and 13 great-grandchildren.


Emily was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother, Harris M. Sullivan.


She worked as an Administrative Assistant in Wisconsin and Florida School Districts, was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Canton, a member of the Eastern Star, and very active with Canton Main Street.


Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 3, 2022 at Sedgwick Funeral Homes & Crematory in Canton, where visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the time of services. Rev. Dr. Shalom Renner will officiate. Burial will take place in Locust Lane Cemetery following the services. Catharine J. Simpson

Catharine Jane Simpson, age 87 of Cuba, Illinois, formerly of Astoria, Illinois, passed away at 11:15 am Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at Clayberg Fulton County Nursing Center, Cuba, Illinois. She was born on January 30, 1935 in Boylston, Massachusetts, the daughter of Joseph and Clara (Abshire) Friend. Cathy married Harold Eugene Simpson on June 20, 1953 in Boylston. He preceded her in death on March 12, 2007.


She was also preceded in death by her brother Ron Friend.

Cathy is survived by her daughter, Sherry (and Steve) Hoerr-Bradley of Morton, Illinois, Mike (and Gina) Simpson of Lewistown, Illinois and three grandchildren; Ian Simpson, Chance (and Ashley) Simpson and Brittany Hoerr.

She was a teller for the Astoria Savings and Loan for many years until her retirement. She also assisted in the management of the Astoria South Fulton Senior Center in Astoria. She loved people and had great compassion for those in need.

Cathy loved her family deeply, enjoying her grandchildren's activities. She also loved her beloved cat, CC.

Cremation rites have been accorded. Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, October 9th at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria, Illinois. Pastor Brian Ebbert will officiate. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be given to the Astoria South Fulton Senior Center or the Fulton County Animal Shelter.

Inurnment will take place in the Good Hope Cemetery in rural Rushville, Illinois at a later date.

Rachel Buskirk

Rachel Buskirk, 92, of Canton, passed away at 2:07 pm Sunday, July 24, 2022 at The Loft in Canton. She was born on February 7, 1930 in Parrish, AL, to Charlie B. and Nora Lee (Roberts) Turner. They preceded her in death along with daughter Cindy Eyman, son Frank Leroy Buskirk Jr, two brothers and three sisters.

Surviving are three children; Judy (John) Spahn of Canton, Deborah Jean Hillman of Creve Coeur and Brad Buskirk of Murfreesboro, TN, fourteen grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Rachel had worked at Graham Hospital, Maid-Rite and the Four Seasons. She was of the Pentecostal faith.

Cremation rites have been accorded and there will be a Celebration of Life Saturday, October 1st from 1 pm to 4 pm at the Canton Elks Lodge at 61 West Elm Street in Canton. Michael "Robby" Robinson

Michael "Robby" Eugene Robinson (age 67) went to be with the Lord September 21, 2022 due to heart failure during a procedure in Harker Heights, Texas. He was born June 19, 1955 along with his twin sister in Beardstown, Illinois to Robert Eugene and Wilma Jane Robinson. He spent his childhood on Riverview Farms where he attended Astoria High School. When he graduated Michael enlisted in the Air Force and was a proud 18 year veteran. He was honorably discharged by the United States Air Force. "Robby" dedicated his latter years to helping fellow veterans get the benefits they deserved. He was the best dad and will be dearly missed.


Survivors include his wife Maria Robinson, his son Daniel Robinson (Emy), his daughters Sarah Robinson and Mayinis Sandoval, his grandsons Ross Robinson, Orion Robinson and Axel Robinson, his granddaughters Keirsten Robinson, Danica Robinson, Faith Robinson, Savannah Robinson and Gabriella Robinson, his sisters Marsha (Pat) Clements, Ann (Warren) Abbott and Cindy (Adam) McClintock. Not to mention his Aunts, Uncles and countless nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives that loved him.

A time of gathering and military rites will be held Saturday October 15, 2022 at the Vermont Cemetery, Vermont, Illinois at 11am. Pastor Greg Parker will officiate and military rites will be provided by the Astoria American Legion Post #25. A luncheon at the Browning Church of Christ will follow. Nancy Sue Utsinger

Nancy Sue Utsinger, 83, of Canton, IL, passed away at 8:50 AM on Monday, September 26, 2022 at Graham Hospital in Canton, IL. She was born on September 16, 1939 in Canton, IL to Clinton and Virginia (Chapman) Utsinger.


She is survived by seven children; Ronald (Jessica) Cozad of Havana, IL, Gail Cozad of St. Charles, MO, Tammie (Perry) Denning of Farmington, IL, Randy (Rhonda) Cozad of Macomb, IL, Rusty Cozad of Canton, IL, Richard (Kari) Cozad of Cuba, IL, and Robert Cozad of St. Charles, MO; two step children, Charles (Terri) Osborne Jr, and Justin (Lori) Osborne; 22 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; one brother, Richard Utsinger; and significant other for 23 years; Charles Osborne.


Nancy is preceded in death by her parents; one son, William; two sisters, Carol and Sharon; one brother, Donald; one grandson; and one great-grandson.


She worked as a rehab aid for Graham Hospital in Canton, IL. She also worked as a truck driver for many years. She enjoyed mowing, Indianapolis car races and working on vehicles.


A Celebration of Life will be held from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM on Saturday, October 15, 2022 at Big Creek Recreation Center in Canton, IL with a dinner provided. Alice C. Zempel

Lewistown- Alice C. Zempel, 91, of Lewistown, passed away at 12:15 PM Sunday September 25, 2022 at Clayberg Nursing Home.

She was born August 14, 1931 at rural Lewistown, the daughter of Karl and Margaret (Callender) Davis. She married Karl F. Zempel on August 23, 1971 at Ashville, NC. He preceded her in death on January 2, 1999. She was also preceded in death by her parents, and one step son, Robert Roy Zempel who made his home with her. Surviving are two step children, Zoe (Norman) White of Forest City, and Karl R. “Hoot” Zempel of Lewistown, three grandchildren, Eric White, Branson Zempel, and Karla Zempel, and five great grandchildren.

Alice graduated Lewistown High School and worked as a telephone operator and later became a beauty operator. She was a member of the Lewistown Chapter of the DAR, the Fulton County Farm Bureau, and the Lewistown United Methodist Church. She and her husband enjoyed vacationing in North Carolina, and spent many winters in Florida.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM Friday September 30, 2022 at Oak Hill Cemetery with Pastor Shane Smith officiating. Jim Trone

Canton -Jim Trone, 83, passed away on Sunday, September 25, 2022 at OSF St Francis in Peoria.

He was born on February 22, 1939 in Rushville to Carl and Mabel (Hollenbeck) Trone.
He married Elsie Murphy on February 2, 1958 in Canton. She survives.
Also surviving are his children, Gayle (Bob) Burie of Meeker, OK, Chris Trone of Canton, Jill Otto of Canton, Erin (Andrew) Ridenour of Canton, one sister, Betty Crosier of Canton, and six grandchildren, Evan Otto, Kaden Otto, Lakon Otto, Gavin Otto, Isaac Ridenour and Ian Ridenour.
He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Paula Trone, four brothers, Bob, Hank, Jody and Donnie, and one sister, Marjorie Chenoweth.
Jim was a self-employed contractor and he and his son Chris owned and operated Trone Construction. Together they were the primary contractors on the church's expansion projects, which included a new sanctuary, gymnasium, and fellowship hall.
Jim's highlight in life was watching his children and grandchildren play sports. He never missed a game.
Another pass time that Jim loved was racing horses. He enjoyed speed events, especially flag racing.
Jim was a follower of Jesus and a faithful member of the Evangelical Free Church of Canton. He served as a church Elder, Sunday School Teacher, AWANA Leader, and was an active member of a small group. Jim's one desire in life was that his children and grandchildren would love the Lord Jesus Christ as he did.
Cremation rites have been accorded through the Oaks-Hines Funeral Home and Crematory in Canton. A celebration of his life will be held on Sunday, October 2. 2022 from 3-4 with a service to follow at 4 pm. All services will be held at Evangelical Free Church.

Frankie Belle Nunn

Mrs. Frankie Belle Nunn, 89, of Mason City, passed away Saturday afternoon, September 24, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. She was born June 7, 1933 in Mammoth Cave, Kentucky to the late Beau and Rene Logsdon. She married Robert E. Nunn on January 27, 1952 in Park City, Kentucky.

She worked for Lehn & Fink for 38 years until her retirement. Frankie was a member of The Assembly of God Church in Mason City and enjoyed gospel and country music.
She is survived by her son, Rick Nunn (Brenda Koke) of Mason City, three grandchildren, Cheston (Clydette) Agles of Milford, OH, Nicole (Tyler) Link of Springfield, IL, and Jennifer (Evan) Arnold of Monclova, OH, six great-grandchildren, Kane and Kameron Isaac, Jordanna and Embry Arnold, Drake Agles and Bryson Link.
In addition to her parents, Frankie was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Nunn, daughter-in-law, Bev Nunn, and her siblings Louie Logsdon, Oren Logsdon, Lloyd Logsdon, Ollie Gore, Grace Hogan, Lottie Monroe and Alma Logsdon.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 28, 2022 with the funeral starting at 11:00 a.m. at The Assembly of God Church in Mason City. The Rev. James Sprinkel will officiate. Burial will follow at the Mason City Cemetery. Richard Dean Devries

Richard Dean Devries, 72, of Trivoli, passed away at 9:20 AM on Saturday, September 24, 2022 at Farmington Village in Farmington. He was born on October 26, 1949 in Peoria, a son of Dick and Juanita (Doering) Devries. He married Martha “Marty” Blunt on July 26, 1969 in Peoria. She preceded in him in death on October 4, 1998.


Also preceding him in death is his parents.


Surviving are his children, April Sizek of Trivoli; Brad (Tammey) Devries of Farmington; six grandchildren, Jarrid, Mykenzie, Blayne, Ethan, Thomas, and Steven; one brother, Larry Devries of Minnesota; two sisters, Becky Guminga, and Julie Thesing both of Minnesota.


Richard worked and retired from Caterpillar, Inc. after 32 years of service, retiring in 1999. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and served his country with the United States Army.


Per Richard’s wishes, services will be private, memorials can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.

Robert "Bobby" Evans, Jr.

Farmington -Robert "Bobby" Evans Jr, 57, passed away on Friday, September 23, 2022 at Renaissance Care Center in Canton.

He was born on June 14, 1965 in Canton to Robert and Donna (Weirauch) Evans.
Surviving are his children, Victoria (Justin) Beaty of Canton, Braden Evans of Canton, two brothers, Ron Evans of Southaven, MS, Beau Evans of Cuba, his mother Donna Evans of Cuba and three grandchildren, Thomas, Scarlett and Stella Beaty.
He was married to Angela (Crouch) Evans. She also survives.
He was preceded in death by his father and one stillborn son, Robbie.

Makenzie L. Coulter

Makenze L. Coulter, age 23 of Table Grove, Illinois passed away as a result of an auto accident at 4:55 a.m. Tuesday, September 20, 2022 in East St. Louis, Illinois. She was born on December 9, 1998 in Macomb, Illinois, the daughter of Bob and April (DeWeese) Coulter.


She is survived by her parents, her sister Madisen Coulter of Table Grove, Grandparents Rod and Mary Frederick of Table Grove, Dean Coulter of Fiatt, Illinois, Steve DeWeese of Satsuma, Florida and her “adopted” grandparents who helped raise her, Steve and Kay Weaver of Ipava, Illinois.

Makenze was preceded in death by her grandmother Kay Coulter.

Services will be held on Sunday, September 25th at 6:00 pm at the Berean Christian Church in Ipava, Illinois. Pastor Doug Krukewitt will officiate. Visitation will take place from 4-6 pm on Sunday at the church. Memorials may be made to the South Fulton Lady Rebels Basketball Program. Richard B. Fuller

Richard B Fuller, 89 of Banner Il. Passed away Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at 10:30 AM at Pekin Manor Care Facility in Pekin Il. With his family by his side.


Richard was born on April 7th 1933, raised and resided his entire life in Banner Il. The son of Daniel (Keith) and Faye Fuller, He married Joan Sherwood on July 12th 1959 at the South Park United Methodist Church in Canton. She preceded him in death on November 22, 2009. In addition to his wife and parents he was preceded by his son Daniel Fuller on August 5th 2018.


Surviving are his daughter and caregiver Linda (Rod) Henderson of Pekin Il. Daughter in law Lynn (Dan) Fuller of Canton. Sister Mary (Abe) Abrams of Groveland Il. Eight Grandchildren: Adam (Andrea) Holloway from Pekin, Kyle (Devin) Henderson of E. Peoria Il, Seth Henderson, Erik Henderson, Abby Henderson all from Pekin, Cole (Alyssa) Henderson from Peoria Il, Jacob Fuller and Josh Fuller both from Canton Il. Two Great grandchildren Thai Holloway (Pekin) and Archer Henderson (E. Peoria)


During his lifetime Richard graduated from Western Illinois University with a degree in Agriculture and was a proud member of the Fraternity Delta Sigma Phi. He began his working career at the Peoria Agriculture center and later became employed at the International Harvester plant in Canton Il for almost 30 years until its close and his retirement in 1987. He was an active member of the UAW during his time at International Harvester. During his children’s younger years, he was actively involved (along with his wife Joan) in the school’s PTA as well as a 4H leader for the children in the community. Following his retirement Richard could be frequently seen at his son’s jewelry store (Fullers jewelry) on the Canton Square where he truly loved to socialize with all he met and just as frequently seen at all of his grandchildren’s extra-curricular activities from sporting events, band events to 4-H and Boy Scouts, Richard was the “Proud Grandpa” that everyone knew and loved to visit with.


An avid hunter, wild game trapper and fisherman Richard was most notable for his mushroom hunting skills in both the winter and the fall. During the summer months he enjoyed participating in many long distance and marathon running events (his favorite past time event) and frequently earned first place victories for his age group.


Perhaps his most notable attribute was his desire to sing and entertain all he knew. Weather it was in the Jewelry store, Physicians office, on the porch joining in with his grandchildren or a visit at a local Canton establishment, Richard would always draw a crowd and a loud round of applause.


He was truly loved and will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew him.


Graveside services will be held on Monday September 26th at 11:30 at Greenwood Cemetery in Canton, IL (the public is welcome to attend). Rev. Dr. Shalom Renner will officiate. Phyllis M. Carson

Phyllis Marie (Seitz) Carson left her earthly home on September 20, 2022 to join her heavenly Father for eternal peace. Phyllis had a full and wonderful life with much joy and laughter, and she was loved and will be missed by all that knew her. Phyllis was born in Eldon, Iowa on June 17, 1938 to William James Seitz and Ruth Hazel (Ellis) Seitz.


Phyllis worked as a medical office assistant for over 30 years for Dr. Thomas J. Shekleton and later for OSF until she retired. She loved to travel and spent several years traveling the world with friends on locally organized group trips. She was an avid golfer and belonged to the Maple Lane Country Club in Elmwood, IL for over 40 years and was a member of the Shady Ladies. Phyllis loved to play cards, both Pinocle and Bridge, which she did every month for over 50 years with the same wonderful friends that saw each other through all of life’s ups and downs. After retirement she and Bob spent their Winters in Arizona playing golf and enjoying their days with many good friends. She was also a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church of Farmington. Phyllis loved her church and her God.


Phyllis went to high school in Farmington, IL where she was a cheerleader and where she met her lifetime love, Robert Allen Carson. She and Robert married on July 13, 1956 and were married for 66 amazing years. They were surrounded by family and many lifetime friends and loved to entertain, cook and have fun. They were also pretty good on the dance floor.

She is survived by her husband, Robert, and their two daughters Deborah (Mike) Carson-Cross and DeAnn (Mark) Atwell. Phyllis leaves behind 6 grandchildren Robert, Katy, Cameron, Eli, Jennifer, Alycia and 5 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by sister, Trudy Cline, in-laws Stellemae (Carson) and Jerry Carley, Janice (Carson) and Al Castle, as well as many nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Ruth, her in-laws Everett and Dortha Carson and sisters, Myrna Cruise & Beverly Davis as well as brothers-in-law Daryl Cline, John Davis, John Carson and sister-in-law Eleanor Carson and two nieces Janice Carley and Susan (Carley) Bohanan.

David S. Richards

David "Dave" Stanley Richards, 75, of Yates City, IL, passed away on Saturday, September 17, 2022, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL, with Karen by his side.

He was born on May 21, 1947, in Peoria, and the second bouncing baby boy for George Charles and Maxine Faye (Kimzey) Richards of Hanna City, IL. He married Karen E. (Zink) McMearty on July 11, 1981, in Yates City, IL.
He is also survived by one daughter, Christie McMearty (Danny Terpstra); two grandchildren, Ainsely and Angus Terpstra; one sister, Cheryl A. Miller; and several nieces and nephews.
Dave was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; one brother, G. Terry Richards; one sister-in-law, Judith C. (Betson) Richards; one brother-in-law, Edwin H. Miller; a very young Uncle James "Jimmy" S. Richards; and several other aunts and uncles.
Dave grew up in Hanna City, IL, and graduated from Farmington Community High School Class of 1966. He served his country in the United States Army from 1966 to 1969, a veteran of the Vietnam War.
Dave was Pipefitter in the Skilled Trades at Caterpillar and a member of the UAW Local #974. He retired from Caterpillar on January 29, 2011, exactly 45 years to the date he hired in, January 29, 1966.
Documentaries! He loved documentaries, because he thought anytime you learned something new, it was a good day. He also enjoyed NASCAR and any kind of sports, but never gave up on his favorite football team: Chicago Bears.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A private graveside service with military rites will take place in Pleasant Grove Cemetery in rural Trivoli, IL, at a later date.

Barbara Sue Stivers

Macomb- Barbara Sue Stivers, 67, of Macomb, formerly of Farmington, passed away at 9:04 AM, Saturday September 17, 2022 at her residence. She was born on August 30, 1955 in Peoria, IL, a daughter of Charles and Viola Ellen (Derrick) Brashers. She married Donald Stivers. He survives.


Also surviving Barbara are her two children, Joel Stivers, and Drew (Khristy) Stivers, both of Macomb; three grandchildren, Owen, Kaylee, and Memphis; two brothers, Chuck, and Bob; and two sisters, Sheila, and Nancy.


She was preceded in death by her parents; and her sister Liz.


Barbara spent her lifetime as a homemaker. She was also a member of the Brunswick Church.

Funeral services will take place at 2:00 PM on Friday, September 23, 2022 at Anderson-Sedgwick Funeral Home in Farmington, IL. Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM until the time of services. Richard C. "Dickie" Dye, Jr.

Canton - Richard C. "Dickie" Dye Jr., 73, of Canton, passed away Monday, September 19, 2022, at his home.

He was born on December 8, 1949, in Mississippi, to Dr. Richard C. Dye Sr. and Marguerite (Hammons) Dye. They preceded him in death along with one brother Howard Dye.
Dickie married Michelle "Micky" Dye on July 11, 1998. She also preceded him in death in 2018.
He is survived by two children, Mollie (BJ) Burkhart of Normal Illinois, and Trey Dye of Mazon Illinois, brother Glenn (Jean) Dye, sister - in - law Shelia Dye, six grandchildren, Alexis, Trey Benjamin, Blake, Madison, Ben, and Brady, and one great grandchild, Arlo.
Dickie was a Veteran of the United States Army. He worked for International Harvester in Canton until its closing. He then worked with his father at his veterinarian Hospital in Canton and later retired from Navistar in Indianapolis. In his younger years he was an avid outdoorsman. He was an avid fan of the Chicago Bears and the St. Louis Cardinals. Dickie always loved to have a good time and could generally be found at any of the local watering holes. Most of all he will be remembered for having a big heart and will be missed by all his friends and family.

Steven F. White

Steven F. White, 74, of Peoria, passed away at 8:42 pm, Monday, September 12, 2022 at his residence. He was born on July 26, 1948 in Canton to Francis Lee and Elsie Pauline (Garzee) White. They preceded him in death along with one sister. Surviving are three children; Troy White, Tammy (Troy) Hammer and Tim (Becca) White, one sister Sandra Lee, fourteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Steven worked at the Canton Water Department from 1972-2002. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Canton. Steven volunteered at the First Baptist Church Food Pantry and Sophia's Soup Kitchen in Peoria.

Robert W. Hayes

Robert W. Hayes, 83, of Havana passed away at 1:03 p.m. on Monday, September 19, 2022 at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield. He was born on November 20, 1938 in Peoria County to Paul and June (Gibbs) Hayes. He married Anna May Morse in Peoria on April 27, 1957. She preceded him in death on May 16, 2010.

Robert is survived by his children, Tammy (Jim) Farwell of Havana, Bobann Bashaw of Colorado, Lisa (Dwight) Kolves of Havana, and Robert (Renee) Hayes of Edwards, Illinois; nine grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; grandson, Josh Clayton; aunt, Virginia Adkins, who helped raise him; and sister, Nancy Jenkins.
Robert worked for Steamfitter #353 in Peoria for many years. He also owned Hayes Calls for several years, making duck, goose, and turkey calls. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and outdoorsman, and was a member of Ducks Unlimited and the National Wildlife Turkey Federation.
Cremation rites have been accorded and a private family service will be held at a later date.

Sharon S. Tompkins


Lewistown- Sharon S. Tompkins, 71, of rural Lewistown, passed away at 9:17 PM Sunday September 18, 2022 at her home.

She was born April 23, 1951 at Canton, the daughter of Earl H. and Mary Lou (Morgan) Herrick. She married Rudolph S. “Rudy” Tompkins on June 7, 1969 at Cuba. He preceded her in death on November 23, 2015. She was also preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include one brother, Danny (Kathy) Herrick of Canton, three sisters, Bonnie (David) Howerter of Lewistown, Sandra (Allen) Harper of Lewistown, and Vickie (Stephen) Churchill of Cuba, one sister in law, Maida Williams of Canton, and several nieces and nephews.

Sharon was a homemaker and had also worked for Fulton County Animal Control. She was an avid reader and also fostered cats.

As per Sharon’s wishes cremation will be accorded and there will be no services. Memorial contributions may be made to the Fulton County Humane Society or to the ALS Association. Henry-Lange Memorial Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Condolences may be made at henrylange.com

Helen O. Schrimp

Helen O. Schrimp, 101, of Elmwood, passed away at 7:55 p.m., on Sunday, September 18, 2022, at Country Comfort in Elmwood.

She was born December 21, 1920, in Elmwood, to Harley and June (Bandy) Green. They divorced when she was two years old, and she was raised by her mother and maternal grandparents, Robert and Gertrude Bandy. She was the devoted wife of Richard S. Schrimp, whom she married in Elmwood on April 23, 1954. She had worked for several years as a beautician. She was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Elmwood where she sang in the choir and served on the Board of Deacons. She was also a member of the Elmwood Community Chorus and the Elmwood Woman's Club for many years.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, September 23, 2022, at the First Presbyterian Church in Elmwood. A one-hour visitation will be held prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., at the church. Burial will immediately follow the service at Elmwood Township Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Elmwood and the Samaritan's Purse.

Phillip "Phil" Jon Grim

Philip “Phil” Jon Grim, 57, of Havana passed away at his home on Sunday, September 18, 2022 at 11:38 p.m. He was born on April 22, 1965 in Peoria to Walter and Jean (Kingen) Grim, Jr.

Phil is survived by two daughters, Alyssa Loftis of Montana and Lacey Nicole (James) Wall of Guam; five grandchildren; and siblings, Ron (Sharon) Grim of Michigan, Jerry Grim of Delavan, and Steve (Beth) Grim of Mason City. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Phil worked for the City of Havana for many years.
Cremation rites have been accorded and a burial will be held at a later date.
