John Jay "Beaner" "Brother John" Decker

Lewistown- John Jay “Beaner” “Brother John” Decker, 55, of Canton, passed away at 6:05 PM on Saturday, April 9,2022, at his residence. He was born on June 30, 1966, a son of Harry Joshua and Nancy Caroll (Hickman) Decker of Lewistown, IL.

John is survived by his parents; three children; Shane (Megan) Decker of Toulon, IL, Joshua Vaughn Decker of Havana, IL, Thomas Decker of Vermont, IL; two grandchildren; Adam Vaughn Decker, Zane Jay Decker, 6 brothers; Ted Decker, Steven Decker, Kevin Decker, Roger Edwards, Ernie Warfield, and Robin Henderson; 4 sisters; Joy Harris, Robin Warfield, Donna Howarter, and Tina Henderson.

He is preceded in death by sister Beverly Decker, and grandmother Bessie Ann Decker.

John spent his life happily working as a contractor. He also enjoyed watching NCIS and going fishing.

He was a Veteran of the United States Army Reserves.

Cremation rites will be accorded with Sedgwick Funeral Homes and Crematory in Canton, IL. A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
