D. Eileen Hilton, 85, of Canton, passed away at 4:10 AM on Friday, April 8, 2022 at her residence. She was born on August 13, 1936 in Abington, a daughter of Ora and Letha (Simpson) Berry. She married Garland Hilton on April 8,1967 in Galesburg. He survives.
Also surviving are her children, Heather (Gary) Buchman of Canton; Joseph and James Walker both of Reno, Nevada; Lori Hilton of New Port Richey, Florida; Ron Hilton of East Peoria; eight grandchildren, Meaghan (Keaton) Canevit, Lexie Buchman, Miranda Walker, Stephanie (Alex) Penning, Matthew Hilton, Rachel Hilton, Cole Torrent, and Ian Provenzano; and one great-grandchild on the way.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one grandson, Nicholas Provenzano, and three brothers, Dorrance Berry, Donald Berry, and Darven Berry.
Eileen worked and retired in 1986, from Graham Hospital, as director of medical records, and worked for several years with the Illinois Department of Corrections, Canton Prison, also as director of medical records. She helped start and was co-owner of The Shoe Tree in Canton for many years.
Per Eileen’s wishes, there will be no services, cremation rites will be accorded through Sedgwick Funeral Homes & Crematory in Canton. Burial of ashes will take place in White Chapel Memory Gardens in Canton, at a later date. Memorials can be made to the Fulton County Humane Society.
