Archie C. Foster

Archie C. Foster, 75, of Elmwood, passed away at 7:03 a.m., on Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at his residence. He was born September 9, 1946, in Brimfield, to Everett and Violet (Rynearson) Foster. He married Roberta Hall on October 6, 1962, in Elmwood. She preceded him in death in 2004.

He is survived by five children, Rodney (Cindy) Foster of Peoria, William Foster of Elmwood, Lynn Foster of Elmwood, Robert Foster of Elmwood, and Beth Foster of Elmwood; one sister, Joyce Foster; seven grandchildren, Lynn Marie Foster, Ashley (John) Brentrup, Jerimay Keel, Brittany (Joe) Bushong, Jessica (Jeremiah) Lacomb, Aaron (JoAnna) Bernal, and Austin Foster; and eight great-grandchildren, Alex, Destiny, Faith, Saffron, Aiden, Evan, Brooklyn, Weston, and one-on-the-way.
He is also preceded in death by his parents; one son, Charles Foster; six brothers; and four sisters.
Archie worked as a Machinist at Caterpillar where he retired from after thirty plus years. He was also a Peoria County Police Officer for seven years and worked for Whitney & Associates in Peoria for seven years. After retiring, he was a Paper Carrier for the Peoria Journal Star. He adored his family, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and his dogs.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Monday, April 25, 2022, at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Elmwood. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will immediately follow the service at Oak Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association and the American Diabetes Association.
