Becky J. Whitehouse

Becky J. Whitehouse, 69, of Canton, passed away at 4:55 AM on Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at Renaissance Care Center in Canton. She was born on February 27, 1953 in Peoria, a daughter of Virgal and Janet (Clark) Day. She married William “Bill” Whitehouse on December 9, 1978 in Elmwood. He survives.

Also surviving are her two daughters, Tricia (Sean) Davis of Canton; Sarah Thompson of Pekin, four grandchildren, James, Aubry, Benjamin, and Norah; one brother, Steven Day of Mountain Home, Arkansas, and one sister, Lori Cantrell of Mountain Home, Arkansas.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and one infant sister.

Becky worked as a Registered Nurse for 32 years, last working for Harbor Light Hospice before retiring in 2008. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Canton; she was very active in Synodically Authorized Ministry in the Central-Southern Illinois Synod ELCA.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Canton, where a memorial visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the time of the services. Pastor Micah Garnett will officiate. Cremation rites will be accorded through Sedgwick Funeral Homes & Crematory. Private family burial of ashes will be held at a later date in Orndorff-Breeds Cemetery. Memorials can be made to Trinity Lutheran Church.
