She was born on August 17, 1950 in Peoria, IL to Melba Rowell & Warren Slaughter, who both preceded her in death. She is survived by her sister, Karen Steiner of Ft. Wayne, IN, her daughter, Holly McClain of Round Rock, TX, and her three grandchildren, Connor McClain, Cailan McClain, and Owen McClain, all of Round Rock, Texas.
Carol worked for many years in the Peoria area for OSF St. Francis. In 2000 she began her work at the Arkansas State Capitol in the Legislative Bureau of Research. She took great pride in her work and she retired in 2014.
Carol had a life long deep love of music. She enjoyed spending time with her family and playing games. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in her memory to St. Jude Children's Hospital, Luthy Botanical Garden in Peoria, IL, or your local animal shelter.
