Marilyn J. Bohm, 73, of Vermont, IL, passed away at 10:57 am on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL. She was born on July 16, 1948 in Macomb, IL, the daughter of Harold “Whitey” and Virginia (Wolfe) DeMott. Marilyn married Commander Ed Bohm, US Navy Retired, on December 18, 1964 in Ipava, IL. He survives.
Also surviving are her 2 sons, Dennis (and Claudia) Bohm of Bryceville, FL and Darin (and Sue) Bohm of Port St. Lucie, FL, 2 granddaughters, Sarah Bohm of Bryceville, FL and Amy (and Michael) Pierce of Port St. Lucie, FL, 2 great-grandchildren, Cole and Chloe Pierce, and 2 sisters, Carolyn (and Rick) Beaird of Austin, TX and Lisa (and Larry) Kendrick of Vermont.
She is preceded by her parents and brother, Harold DeMott.
Marilyn was a dedicated member of the VFW Auxiliary in Okee Chobee, FL, where she cooked many meals, sometimes for 50 plus people at a time. She enjoyed cooking for people and was very good at it. Marilyn loved cardinals, the bird, but was also a huge St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan.
Cremation rites have accorded. A memorial service will be held at 1 pm on Thursday, September 16, 2021 at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Marilyn’s name can be made to your local humane society.
