She was born to Lee and Maggie Daniel on January 3, 1924. She married John A. Ketcham on December 30, 1944. He preceded her in death on July 7, 2015. They were married over 70 years. Charlene is survived by her sons John D. Ketcham of Macomb, IL; and Michael L. Ketcham of Aurora, IL; three grandchildren, John J. Ketcham of Macomb, IL; Micjael A. Ketcham of LaGrange, IL; and Caitlin C. McBride of Tucson, AZ; as well as great grandchildren, John and Pierce. She is also survived by her niece Karen (Larry) Shonkweiler of Gridley, IL; her nephew, James (Mary) Higgins of Manhattan, KS; and great nephews, Eric and Michael.
Charlene taught Sunday School and was a member of the Kendall County Historical Society when she lived in Aurora, IL. She served as deaconess at the Illinois Street Christian Church in Lewistown, IL. Charlene’s interests included sewing, quilt making, reading and rearranging her beautiful home. She was a wonderful, caring woman and mother.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM Friday September 24, 2021 at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lewistown, with Pastor Brant Reed officiating. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Illinois Street Christian Church or St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital. Condolences may be made at henrylange.com
