Robert “Bob” Arthur Benson
Also surviving is one daughter, Carol Benson O’Connor; daughter-in-law, Jenni Benson; step-son, Chad Naylor; five grandchildren, Braiden, Griffin and Ian O’Connor, and Freja and Jack Benson; and four brothers.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents; one son, Brad Benson; one grandson, Christian Naylor; and one infant sister.
He worked for Caterpillar in East Peoria for 42 years. He was also an active member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Glasford, IL.
Bob was a veteran of the United States Army.

Sandra G. "Sandy" Grzanich
Canton formerly Dunfermline - Sandra G. "Sandy" Grzanich, 83, of Canton formerly of Dunfermline, passed into the arms of her heavenly father on Tuesday, September 28, 2021, at Renaissance Care Center in Canton.
She married Emil A. Grzanich on July 30, 1955, in Canton. He preceded her in death on March 4, 2001.Sandy enjoyed her life as a Christian women, a wife, mother grandmother, sister, and friend. She loved cooking, baking and caring for her grandchildren. She ran a day care in her home for many years.
She is survived by her children, Susan (Charles) Martin of Galesburg, Deanna (James) Hinds, Timothy (Sherry) Grzanich, and Jo Ellen (Steve) Endsley, all of Lewistown, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren nieces and nephews, two brothers Robert and Thomas (Carolyn) Shumaker.
Sandy was preceded in death by her mother Evelyn (Williams) Winegar and her stepfather Nathan Winegar and one sister, Judy Lillie.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, October 4, 2021, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Cemetery in Canton. A Facebook livestream of Sandy's service will be provided on Oaks-Hines Funeral Home and Crematory's Facebook page at the time of the service.

Katheryn A. Lingenfelter
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers and one sister.
Katheryn worked for the Fulton County Sheriff Office as a Bailiff for several years, but later enjoyed her time at home taking care of her family. She was a member of the Canton American Legion Post #16. She enjoyed quilting, watching birds, hummingbirds and other wildlife.
Graveside services and burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 1, 2021 at Greenwood Cemetery in Canton. Rev. Monroe Bailey will officiate. James H. Wilcoxen
Jim was born March 15, 1937 to Vern and Helen (Wilhelm) Wilcoxen. They preceded him in death along with his sister, Ruth Shields, and brother, Jack Wilcoxen. His surviving sister Patricia Graham resides in Springfield, IL.
Jim married Roberta Cross in 1958. She survives and resides in Springfield, IL. Jim served in the Army and left for Korea in 1958, returning in 1960. He was a General Supply Specialist, and expert (rifle) marksman and received a GCM. Jim worked at Freeman United Coal Company for many years and then became an exemplary welder working in construction. Jim was a member of the Matanza Gun Club. He was a natural outdoorsman and had a few secrets when morel season came around.
Jim has three children, Marc (Sharol), Phil (Sheryl), and Jo Ellyn. He was deeply proud of his kids. He also has five grandchildren that brought him immense joy and happiness. They will miss his great life stories and grandfatherly advise, not to mention his funny sayings and “Grandpa-isms”. He lived for annual family vacations in Wisconsin. He was always the one most excited and he could not contain it! Jim loved his family. He was a role model and a natural teacher of all things not printed in books or manuals. He leaves a legacy of kindness, love, and laughter.
Cremation has been accorded. A memorial service will be held at 7:00 PM Wednesday September 29, 2021 at Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown, with Reverend Sue Roat officiating. Robert S. Lewis
Robert is survived by seven children, Ingrid (Kevin) Lingenfelter of Plymouth, IL, Alicia (Al) Calhoun of Charles City, IA, Lisa (Bryan) Lewis Noble of Bethlehem, PA , Anna (Steve Estes) Bushnell of West Peoria. Jeff (Kim) Lewis of Wenatchee, WA, Nick Lewis Madison, WI, and Michael Lewis of Farmington; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and one nephew that’s like a son Mac (Sarah) Lewis of Malabar, FL.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
Robert worked at Caterpillar for 31 years as a power trucker. He was also a former police officer and West Peoria Firefighter. Robert enjoyed his cats, fishing, his truck and spending time with his family.

Velda Faye Plumer
Maquon - Velda Faye Plumer, 86, of Maquon, passed away, Saturday, September 25, 2021 at her home.
She was born on February 2, 1935, in Trivoli to Frank and Lida (Bitner) Clauson.She married Robert W. Plumer on December 1, 1957 in Trivoli. He preceded her in death on September 30, 2006.
She is survived by five children, Clinton (Pam) Plumer of London Mills, Kelley Plumer of Mesa Arizona, Clayton (Donna) Plumer of Farmington, Kristine (David) Mason of Maquon, and Koleen (Anthony Raes) Plumer of Fairview, Eleven grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death are her parents, four brothers, Cecil, Eldon, Dean and Don and two sisters, Dorothy Geltmaker and Shirley Harman.
Velda took great pride in working on the farm with her husband. She would do all the cooking, cleaning and lawn chores. She was a member of the Rapatee Union Church.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at 11 am at the Trivoli Cemetery. There will be no visitation.
Memorials may be made to the Easter Seals or to Galesburg Rescue Mission.

James E. Lloyd
Canton - James E. Lloyd, 85, of Canton passed away on September 18, 2021 in Canton. He was born on July 19, 1936 in Elizabeth, IL, to Harvey and Merle (Trousdale) Lloyd.
Preceding him in death were his parents and four sisters; Arliss Lloyd, Phyllis Rohde, Lavonne Trapp and Marilyn Zigler. He is survived by nieces and nephews, including a special nephew, Eric Zigler of Rockford, IL.James attended Lincoln College in Lincoln, IL before transferring to the University of Illinois where he received a bachelor of science degree majoring in agriculture. After graduation from the University of Illinois, he served two years I the U.S. Army as a radar instructor stationed at Fort Sill, OK. Following his discharge from the Army, James began law school at the University of Illinois College of Law where he graduated in February, 1965 with Doctor of Jurisprudence Degree. He passed his bar examination in March, 1961 and was licensed to practice law in May, 1965. After becoming a licensed attorney, he spent his first two months with the law firm of Bull, Ludens, and Potter in Morrison, IL. At the age of 31, James came to Canton and joined the law firm of Claudon and Elson in May of 1965. He continued to practice law I Canton for more than 50 years, practicing before numerous Circuit Corts, Appellate Courts, and the Supreme Court of the State of Illinois, as well as the United States Tax Court. He was a long-time member of the Fulton County Bar Association.
James had a love for Porsches and also for his two little dogs that both brought him so much joy through the years.

She was a homemaker and farm wife.
Della was a member of the Summum Christian Church where she taught Sunday school and served for several years. She was also a Kerton Township Election Judge at one point in time. Della loved gardening, fishing, camping, cooking for her family, studying her Bible and sharing her faith, crocheting, making afghans and canning. She also enjoyed writing and was even published in Reminisce Magazine.
Services will be held at 11 am on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria. Pastor Steve Castaneda will be officiating. A visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the Laurel Hill Cemetery in Havana, IL. Memorials may be made to the Summum Christian Church Elevator Fund.

Brenda R. Johnson
Brenda was a loving mother who is survived by two children, Jeffrey (Michelle) Johnson of Macomb, IL and Sean Johnson of Ellisville, IL; one grandson Corey Rouse; and two sisters Anna Jewell of Romney WV; Ruby Hott of Capon Bridge, WV. She gave her whole heart and soul. We will dearly miss her until we meet again.
Brenda was preceded in death by her parents and six brothers, Phillip, Charles, Jimmy, Norman, Roger and John Jewell.
Brenda was a housewife, mother, and was a loyal, dedicated, and lifelong caregiver to her loving husband. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church. She loved flowers and planting. Brenda was a true gardener.

Carl F. Jackson
Canton-Carl F. Jackson Jr, passed away on Sept. 20, 2021. He was born on December 13, 1932 in Danville, Illinois to Carl F Jackson Sr. and Ardith S. Jackson of Danville. They both preceded him in death along with one brother Walter Jackson and one Sister Helene Sarver. Surviving is a sister Mary Lynn Palcisco, two sons, Timothy Jackson (Tiffanie) of Springtown TX, Patrick Jackson (Monica) of Los Angeles CA, a very special friend Susan Lafary of Canton, five Grandchildren. Sara Stanke (Justin) Benjamin Jackson, Taylor Jackson, Jennifer Jackson, and Ella Owen Jackson and seven great grandchildren.
Carl served in the US Navy. He Obtained his undergraduate degree from Eastern Illinois University and his master's degree from Northern Illinois University. Carl was a teacher for over 35 years and he spent most of this teaching tenure at Spoon River Community College where he taught business subjects, largely accounting. He was always proud of his students' successes.He was active in the community and supported many organizations over the 5 plus decades he resided in Canton. These include Lions Club, The YMCA, Salvation Army, Meals on Wheels, Love Inc., Youth Sports and student scholarship at Spoon River Community College.
Carl was a dedicated father and took great pride in his family's achievements.
Cremation rites have been accorded through Oaks-Hines Funeral Home and Crematory in Canton.
A burial of his ashes will be held at the Indianola Cemetery at a later date.

Margaret McKenzie
She was born July 2, 1929 at Havana, the daughter of Mike and Nell (Edlin) Heffren. She married Charles V. McKenzie on February 24, 1945 at Havana. He preceded her in death on March 19, 2014. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one great granddaughter, Meagan Beaird, and five siblings. Surviving are two children, Richard (Lynne) McKenzie of Lewistown, and Rose Hutson of Avon, two grandchildren, Matthew (Amber) McKenzie of Lewistown, and Misty McKenzie of Minnesota, and one great granddaughter, Lucy McKenzie of Lewistown.
Margaret was a farmers wife who helped her husband with the family farm for many years. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lewistown.
Services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday September 27, 2021 at henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown, with Father David Whiteside officiating. Charlene L. Ketcham
She was born to Lee and Maggie Daniel on January 3, 1924. She married John A. Ketcham on December 30, 1944. He preceded her in death on July 7, 2015. They were married over 70 years. Charlene is survived by her sons John D. Ketcham of Macomb, IL; and Michael L. Ketcham of Aurora, IL; three grandchildren, John J. Ketcham of Macomb, IL; Micjael A. Ketcham of LaGrange, IL; and Caitlin C. McBride of Tucson, AZ; as well as great grandchildren, John and Pierce. She is also survived by her niece Karen (Larry) Shonkweiler of Gridley, IL; her nephew, James (Mary) Higgins of Manhattan, KS; and great nephews, Eric and Michael.
Charlene taught Sunday School and was a member of the Kendall County Historical Society when she lived in Aurora, IL. She served as deaconess at the Illinois Street Christian Church in Lewistown, IL. Charlene’s interests included sewing, quilt making, reading and rearranging her beautiful home. She was a wonderful, caring woman and mother.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM Friday September 24, 2021 at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lewistown, with Pastor Brant Reed officiating. There will be no visitation. Paul K. Wattles
Paul attended Millikin University in Decatur, Illinois and graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a degree in Civil Engineering. He started his professional career at L.L.Swords Engineering in Peoria, Illinois. He met his future wife when they rented rooms in the same house. Later, the couple moved to Springfield, Illinois, and it was there that he started his career in municipal government as Assistant City Engineer. He continued his career in Davenport, Iowa; Augusta, Georgia; Hoffman Estates, Illinois; Hallandale, Florida; and Pembroke Pines, Florida, where he finished his career as Assistant City Manager.
Paul enjoyed music. He was in his high school and college marching bands. Additionally, he was a member of the Decatur municipal band, where he played the French horn. He also played the cornet.
His children and grandchildren enjoyed when he read to them, and later, he shared that talent with school children in Pembroke Pines.
He was a member of the Rotary Club in Augusta, Georgia.
As a member of the United Methodist Church for almost 60 years, Paul was on church boards, sometimes serving as chairman. He also ushered and taught Sunday School. Most recently, he was a member of New Horizon United Methodist Church in Southwest Ranches, Florida.
Most of all, Paul enjoyed spending time with his family. He attended school programs, dance recitals, little league games and soccer games. He was a Boy Scout Leader. He also liked camping with his family and friends. Throughout his children's childhood and adolescence, he spent many weekends at swim meets, cheering on his children and serving as an official. Paul will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Mary L. Bixby
Canton - Mary L. Bixby, 87, of Canton, passed away at 9 am, Monday, September 20, 2021 at the Graham Hospital. She was born on December 15, 1933 in Cuba to Everette and Dessie (Martin) Davidson. Mary married Kenneth Bixby on November 23, 1957 in Lewistown. He preceded her in death on February 18, 1993. Also preceding her in death were her parents, three brothers and three sisters.
Surviving are four children; Carol S. (Thomas) Selph of St. David, Connie J. Bixby of Canton, Ronald L. (Lorna) Bixby of Cuba and Vickie L. (Mike) DeLong of Cuba, one brother Donnie Davidson of Cuba, three sisters; Audrey Day of Ipava, Marie Harrison of South Port, NC, and Barbara Nelson of Sun City, AZ, six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.Mary worked in a lot of restaurants in fulton county, Atwood &Victor& Dana in Havana and also sorted seed corn for quite a while. She also was a CBer for a while, belonging to the Civil Defense. Mary also loved to play Bingo.

Evelyn J. Lowe
Canton - Evelyn J. Lowe, 84, of Canton, passed away at 5:23 pm, Saturday, September 18, 2021 at the Graham Hospital in Canton. She was born on January 19, 1937 in Fairview to John and Anna (Elias) Widger. Evelyn married Jack Lowe and he preceded her in death in 1993. Also preceding her in death were her parents, daughter Luella Rosiere, three brothers and one sister.
Surviving are four children; Bill Rosiere of Canton, Debby (Greg) Adams of Sterling, Mary Holt of Canton and Madeline Carr of Colorado Springs, CO, four brothers; Trig Widger, Bernard Widger, Wayne Widger all of PA and Wess Widger of Peoria, one sister; Marilyn Widger of PA, seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.Evelyn worked at the day care at the Assemble of God Church in Canton for many years. She volunteered at the Salvation Army in the thrift store. She was also a member of the Salvation Army, helped with the Girl Guard, was treasure of the Home League, worked in the comedies distribution and was in the string band.
Services will be 2 pm Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home and Crematory in Canton, where visitation will be one hour prior to services. Cremation rites have been accorded. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Fairview. Memorials can be made to the family c/o Mid America National Bank in Canton to help offset the funeral cost.

Dakotah "Koda" D. Gustafson
He is also survived by one son, Ryker Gustafson; Ryker's mother, Jennah Armstrong; and one sister, Brittany Gustafson.
He is preceded in death by one sister, Aleea Sharp; two grandmothers, Sharon and Jill; three uncles, Keith, Shawn, and Jeff; and one aunt, Wendy.
Koda graduated from Sherrard High School in 2008. More recently, he worked as a Driver for Teamsters #627 at United Facilities in Galesburg.

Edwin McIntyre Hinman
Also surviving are his daughter Jyl Hinman, granddaughter Leah (and Jacob) Malek, his sister Karen (and Mike) Wagner, and two brothers, Alan (and Brenda) Hinman and Robert Hinman.
Edward was preceded in death by four sisters and two brothers.
He was an Army veteran, serving from 1961 to 1963.
Edward was the owner and operator of B, H, and M Enterprises, Inc. in Astoria, Illinois. His hobbies included making knives, hunting, shooting and handling guns.

Gordon W. Linn
Canton - Gordon W. Linn, 94, of Canton, passed away, Wednesday, September 15, 2021, at Lutheran Hillside Village in Peoria. He was born on December 26, 1926, in Canton, to Albert and Coral (Cadwalader) Linn. They preceded him in death along with two brothers, LeRoy and Eldon Linn and two sisters, Mildred Twomey and Thelma Barron. He is survived by Patricia, his wife of 70 years, as well as their three children: Gregory (Clayton Press) Linn of Ewing, New Jersey; Jeffery (Luanne) Linn of The Villages, Florida, and Dr. Martha Linn of Barrington, Illinois. Other survivors include his sister, Alma Lee (the late John) Wertman of Canton; four grandchildren, Jeffery (Morgan) Linn, Stephen (Sara) Linn, Erin Heylin and Shannon Heylin, and two great grandchildren, Stella Linn and Charlotte Linn. Gordon was President of Canton's Community Bank & Trust from its establishment in 1965 until his retirement in 1990. He was also a former President of the Canton Chamber of Commerce. As a business leader, he helped to organize the development of the Fulton Square Shopping Center and was voted Citizen of the Year. In another community project, he was involved with the Spoon River College Foundation, during construction of the original campus. Gordon was an Elder of the First Presbyterian Church in Canton. He was also active in several local organizations: American Legion, Canton Country Club, Lion's Club, and the YMCA (board member). A veteran of the United States Navy, Gordon served his country in the Pacific Theater during World War II. He attended Bradley University, where he received his Bachelor's degree. He was an avid supporter of Bradley's basketball team and was a member of the Braves Club. Richard E. “Gene” Oatman

Gene worked for Central Butane for 26 years. He also farmed for many years. He loved gardening, woodworking, and spending time with his grandson, Logan. He also loved going on multiple trips a year with Carol to Branson, MO.

Ronald E. Worsfold

After Ron graduated from high school in 1971, he worked for Burlington Northern Railroad for a few years. He then sold cars and had his own body shop. During the same time, he worked at Caterpillar as a Quality Control Leader. He retired in 2007 after 35 years. More recently, he enjoyed traveling, and helping his brother farm. Ronald was of the Christian faith.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A visitation will be held from noon to 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 19, 2021, at the Elmwood United Methodist Church. A service will then immediately follow at 1:00 p.m. at the church.
Due to the Covid mandates, the family has requested that all attending please wear a mask.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to B.Y.E. Ambulance and the Elmwood United Methodist Chruch.

Donald G. Pruden
Canton- Donald G. Pruden, 78, of Canton, passed away, Tuesday, March 24, 2020, at Graham Hospital in Canton.
He was born on May 25, 1941 in Mt. Sterling, Illinois, to Charles and Evelyn (McWane). He is survived by his wife Judy Kay (Seyller) Pruden whom he married on January 12, 1967. Also surviving are four children, Brian (Janie) Pruden of Aztec New Mexico, Dawnel Hammond of Canton Illinois, Devin Pruden of Washington Illinois, and Derek Pruden of Des Moines Iowa, one brother, John (Connie) Pruden, and one sister Carol (Terry) Elliott of Murfreeboro, Tennessee, two grandchildren, Addison Hammond and Trace Hammond, and one great grandchild. Oliver Denning.Preceding him in death is his parents and on grandson, Keith Pruden. He was a Veteran of the United States Army. He served from 1967 until 1969 during the Vietnam War where he was stationed in Germany.
Don retired from Degussa Mapleton plant in 2001 after 38 years. He enjoyed hunting fishing, and archery. He also enjoyed going to the Canton Family Restaurant for morning coffee. Cremation rites were accorded a burial of his ashes took place at White Chapel Memory Gardens in Canton. A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the American Legion in Canton.

Alta L. Brown
She married Wade Arlo Brown on May 28, 1955 in Astoria. He preceded her in death on September 30, 2014. Alta was also preceded in death by her daughter Margie Crumrine, three sisters; Ramona Lancaster, Wilda Lancaster, and Lola Anliker, and two brothers, Everette and John Walton.
Alta worked at Nielson's Grocery in Vermont, Illinois for many years.
She was a member of the Astoria Church of Christ.
Alta is survived by her granddaughter Cassandra Stoddart of Moorhead, Minnesota, three great-grandchildren; McKensie, Ryker, and Everett and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 18th at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria, IL. Eric Trone will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the Vermont Cemetery, Vermont, Illinois. Memorials may be made to the Astoria Church of Christ.

Keith Hadsall
He grew up in Ipava and graduated from VIT High School in 1984. While in High School, Keith enjoyed playing football and hanging out with his friends.
Starting in 1983, Keith joined the United States Army Reserve and served in 733rd Maintenance Company in Canton, IL. Upon graduation, Keith entered full time service in the United States Army. Keith attended Basic Training at Ft. Benning, Georgia and continued on to US Army Airborne Jump School. Upon completion of Airborne Jump School, Keith was assigned to the 82nd Airborne Division located in Ft. Bragg, North Carolina. He served in this unit through the completion of his service in 1988.
After his honorable discharge, he began a 28 year career as a prison guard for the Illinois Department of Corrections. Through his 28 year career, he worked in Pontiac and Galesburg. After his IDOC career, Keith spent time working at Caterpillar and a wide variety of jobs in Omaha, Nebraska.
Throughout Keith's life, he loved to fish, was an avid Minnesota Vikings fan and was a model train enthusiast.
A celebration of Keith's life will be scheduled at a later date
