Martina M. Westlake

Martina M. Westlake, 74, of Astoria, IL, passed away at 6:22 am on Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at her
home. She was born on March 15, 1944 in Beardstown, IL, the daughter of John and Pearl (Fraks) Hardy. Martina married Glen Allen Westlake on November 18, 1961 in Beardstown. He survives.

Also surviving are her 3 sons, Gene Westlake of Browning, IL, Stanley Westlake of Browning, and Scott (and Alice) Westlake of Astoria, 7 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, half brother, Donald (and Bonnie) Durell of Browning, and 2 half sisters, Beane Ray of Mississippi and Rosie (and Bill) Brockley of Astoria.

She is preceded in death by her son, Mark Edward Westlake, 2 sisters, Mary Kimbro and Velma Bloom, brother, Sherman Hardy, and her half brother, Junior Durell.

Martina worked at Dana Corporation in Havana, IL. She also worked at the Illinois Glove factory, later the Ansell Hawkeye Glove factory, in Beardstown.

She enjoyed going to yard sales.

Services will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria. Jeremy Westlake will be officiating. A visitation will take place 1 hour prior to the service on Saturday. Interment will be in the Browning Cemetery. Memorials may be made to an area church of the donor’s choice or the Astoria Lions Club.
