Smithfield- Wilford C. “Bill” Blakley, 77, of Smithfield, passed away Friday May 4, 2018 at his home.
He was born October 16, 1940 at Bernadotte, the son of Harry and Margaret (Deakin) Blakley. He married Andrea Wallace on February 11, 1967 at Cambridge. She survives with two daughters, Kim (Don) Ward of Canton, and Erin Blakley of Smithfield, three grandchildren, Nicole and Brittany Kline, and Tim Ward, one brother, Larry (Lori) Blakley of Ipava, and three step brothers, Ronald Henderson of East Peoria, Donald Henderson of Moline, and Richard Henderson of East Peoria. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Glenn Blakley, and one sister, Nancy Blakley.
Bill worked for the TP&W Railroad and the Santa Fe Railroad before retiring. He served in the United States Army and Navy. He was a member of the Bernadotte Historical Society.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday May 12th at Baughman Cemetery at rural Smithfield. Military rites will be conducted by Cuba American Legion Russell Smith Post 533. Condolences may be made at henrylange.com
