Canton – Richard Stanfel, 72, of Courtyard Estates in Canton, passed away at 11:12 am May 27, 2018 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. He was born on July 17, 1945 in Canton to August and Margaret (Eyerly) Stanfel. Surviving are two brothers; William Stanfel of Fargo, N.D, and Dave Stanfel of Livermore, CA. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Michael.
Richard was a custodian at Dickson Mounds Museum in Lewistown. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and a Knight of Columbus. Richard loved to socialize and one of his favorite places was the American Grill.
Services will be 11 am Friday, June 1 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church where visitation will be ½ hour prior to services. Cremation rites have been accorded and burial of ashes will follow at White Chapel Memory Gardens in Canton. Memorials can be made to St. Mary’s Food Pantry.
