Canton – Martin Rosenswipe, 82, of Canton passed away at 11:35 pm, Friday, April 27, 2018 at Heartland Health Care Center in Canton. He was born on April 10, 1936 in St. David to Martin and Mary (Hendricks) Rosenswipe. Martin married Rosalee Taylor on June 2, 1957 in Canton. She preceded him in death on November 4, 2010. Also preceding him in death were his parents, son Gary Rosenswipe, grandson Martin Rosenswipe II, one brother, and one sister. Surviving is his son David Rosenswipe of Canton, grandson David Rosenswipe Jr, and sister Violet Wheeler.
Martin worked at Caterpillar for 33 years, retiring in July 1991. The first 5 years he worked at the East Peoria foundry and then transferred to Mapleton. He was a veteran of the Air Force serving during peace time and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Canton.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday May10, 2018 at 5 p.m. at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton., visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service, A time of fellowship and food will follow the service at the American Grill in Canton.
Burial with Military Honors will be held on June 2, 2018 at Greenwood Cemetery in Canton.
