Canton – Richard “Skip” M. Champlin, 73, of Canton, passed away at 2:50 PM on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at his residence. He was born on May 30, 1944 in Canton to Hermis “Red” and Freda (Powell) Champlin. He married Connie Mitzelfelt on July 22, 1977 at the Church of Brethren in Canton, she survives.
Also surviving is one son, James Champlin of Canton; two grandchildren, Nicole and Tori Champlin of Canton; one brother, Bob Champlin of Canton; one step-brother, Bill Slack; and several nieces and nephews.
Skip was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Ronald and Derrick Champlin.
Skip work at International Harvester and later worked at Walmart where he retired. He was a member of the Elks Lodge in Canton and loved motorcycles and fishing.
Services will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at Sedgwick Funeral Homes & Crematory in Canton, IL. Rev. Kevin Kessler will officiate. Burial will follow the services at Greenwood Cemetery in Canton, IL. A visitation will be held from 5-7 PM on Friday, June 1, 2018 at the funeral home.
