Cecil Walraven
Canton – Cecil G. Walraven, 79, of Canton, passed away at 12:43 PM on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at his residence. He was born on September 15, 1938 in Canton to Willis and Evelyn (Carley) Walraven.
Surviving are two brothers, Carl (Gloria) Walraven and Jon (Debbie) Walraven both of Canton, IL, and four sisters, Nancy (Michael) Harper of Canton, IL, Brenda Maas of Lincoln, IL, Jean Gold of Topeka, IL, and Rosanne (David) Wuebbling of Canton, IL.
Cecil was preceded in death by his parents.
Cecil was the owner and operator of Clark Gas & Oil Station in Canton, IL, where he retired in 1996. He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church and an avid bowler and golfer.

Richard Champlin
Canton – Richard “Skip” M. Champlin, 73, of Canton, passed away at 2:50 PM on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at his residence. He was born on May 30, 1944 in Canton to Hermis “Red” and Freda (Powell) Champlin. He married Connie Mitzelfelt on July 22, 1977 at the Church of Brethren in Canton, she survives.
Also surviving is one son, James Champlin of Canton; two grandchildren, Nicole and Tori Champlin of Canton; one brother, Bob Champlin of Canton; one step-brother, Bill Slack; and several nieces and nephews.
Skip was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Ronald and Derrick Champlin.
Skip work at International Harvester and later worked at Walmart where he retired. He was a member of the Elks Lodge in Canton and loved motorcycles and fishing.
Services will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at Sedgwick Funeral Homes & Crematory in Canton, IL. Rev. Kevin Kessler will officiate. Burial will follow the services at Greenwood Cemetery in Canton, IL. A visitation will be held from 5-7 PM on Friday, June 1, 2018 at the funeral home. William G. Smith
Canton – William G. Smith, 86, of Canton, Passed away Monday May 28, 2018 at Farmington Country Manor in Farmington.
He was born on September 20, 1931 in Buffalo, S.C. to Elmer Tess and Leona Leatherwood Smith.
Bill married Ellen Negley on August 6, 1953 in Buffalo. She survives along with three daughters: Connie (Wilburn) Smith of Farmington, Elizabeth (Dennis) Martindale and Marsh (Bob) Berry, both of Canton, his brother, Howard of Greenville S.C, sister Betty (Ferald) Mann of Burlington N.C., eight grandchildren, Heidi (Tim) Dowell of East Peoria., Madeline and Natalie Martindale of Canton, Lauren, Joel and Emmaline Berry of Canton and Allison (Alex) and Clayton Smith of Farmington and three great-grandchildren, Haley Dowell of Kewanee, and Paris and Trey Dowell of East Peoria. He loved his family and was very proud of his grandchildren. He never tired of watching them participate in their events or discussing how special and unique each one of them were.
Preceding him in death were his parents, in laws, Paul and Lorena Negley of Fiatt, one brother, Troy of Lafayette, and five sisters, Edna Johnson and Wanda Mitchell of Union S.C., Doris Nelmes of Cuba, Anne Hall of Conover N.C., Sue Savelluotte of Jacksonville, Fl and Helen Miller of Michigan.
Bill sold snow cones, shined shoes and worked in the cotton mills in South Carolina before joining the Army in 1950. He served during the Korean War in an artillery division and was involved in both the Bloody Ridge and Heartbreak Ridge battles. He also served in Germany for a year guarding the border between Germany and Russia. After returning home and marrying, he helped his father-in-law run their dairy =farm in Fiatt for several years and then moved to rural Cuba to farm and raise hogs on another family farm. He loved growing things and taking care of his animals. He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Canton and a former member of the Shirts and Skirts and Tribal Squares Square Dance Clubs, the Canton Moose Lodge and the Eagles. He enjoyed dancing, gardening, picking all kinds of fruit, drinking coffee with his neighbors and being with his family. He sold sweet corn, fruit and garden produce at the farmer’s market in Canton and gave even more away.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday June 2, 2018 at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton, Visitation will be held Friday June 1, 2018 from 5 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Cremation rites have been accorded and burial of ashes with military honors will be held at Fiatt cemetery in Fiatt, IL.
Memorials may be made to the Book Bag Buddy Fund for Cuba Elementary which provides for children at risk or the Farmington Country Manor Nursing Home in Farmington.

Laura Mae Bushong
Dunfermline – Laura Mae Bushong, 70, of Dunfermline, passed away at 1:04 PM on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at Graham Hospital. She was born on December 9, 1947 in Morris Town, TN to Charles and Emmroy (Oehrlein) Williams. She married Jerry Bushong on December 23, 1992 in Peoria, IL, he survives.
Also surviving are seven children, Carline Foster of Downey, ID, Carl L. Pasco of Canton, IL, Harold Pasco of Canton, IL, Scott Bushong of Quincy, IL, Todd Bushong of Astoria, IL, Krista Maynard of Stoughton, WI, and Jeri L. Peters of Astoria, IL; 24 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one sister, Shirley Poe of Bloomington, IL.
Laura was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Emmie Jo Wooten, two brothers, Donald and Gene Williams, and one sister, JoAnn Seibolt.
Laura worked as a waitress. She loved life, her kids, camping, and her two cats, Sammy and Sugar.

Dr. Edward L. Michalec
Canton – Dr. Edward Lawrence Michalec, 85, of Canton, died at 8:30 pm on May 26, 2018. He was in hospice care in the home of his children. He was born on November 30, 1932, in Chicago, IL to John and Anna (Surin) Michalec. He married Claudette Joan Janetka at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Chicago on June 11, 1955. His beloved wife died on May 2, 2015, five weeks short of their 60th wedding anniversary. He is survived by his sons, Scott L. Michalec and Todd L. (Christina “daughter”) Michalec both of Germantown Hills. For the past year, he made his home with his children. He is further survived by his sister, Mrs. Mildred Joseph, of Rolling Meadows, Illinois, and his sister in law, Mrs. Anthony R. Janetka, of Glen Ellyn, Illinois, three generations of nieces and nephews and by many dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his sister, Mrs. Ann Kutinac, and his brother, John Michalec, Jr. Dr. Michalec received his undergraduate degree in biochemistry from the University of Illinois at Chicago. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University Of Illinois College Of Dentistry in 1963 with highest honors. From July 1963 to June of 1965 he served as an officer in the Commissioned Corp of the United States Public Health Service. He was stationed on the Yankton Sioux Reservation in Wagner, South Dakota. He held the rank of Naval Lieutenant. From July 1965 until June 1999 he was in private practice in Canton, Illinois. Along with his office family (the late Charlotte Leitze, Kathy Schleich, and Carolyn Woods) he provided exceptional and compassionate dental care to three generations of patients. He was honored to be voted the Daily Ledger first “Favorite Fulton County Dentist” in 1995. He was a life member of the Peoria District Dental Society, the Chicago Dental Society, the Illinois Dental Society, and the American Dental Association. He served a term on the Fulton County Board of Health and for 25 years he sat on the Board of Directors of the former Canton State Bank. Edward was a lifelong Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears fan. He was thrilled to watch the Cubs win the World Series. He was a proud conservative, member of the NRA, and a loyal Fox News viewer. His happiest memories were of numerous trips with his wife and sons throughout all of the United States and most of Canada. He was of the Lutheran faith. He was a generous, wise and loving husband and father. His children will most remember him for the selfless love and care he provided to their mother, Claudette; in the home for the 34 years she was ill and could not care for herself. His life exemplified decency, devotion, honor, and love. Memorials may be made to the Shriners Children’s Hospital and the Fulton County Humane Society. The family would like to thank Dr. Paul Fishkin, his nurse practioners, and the nurses and medical staff at Illinois Cancer Care; the nurses at Unity Point Health Medical Center ICU on 7Crescent for their compassionate care, and the nurses and staff of Unity Point Hospice for their care and emotional support for the last week of Edward’s life. Finally, a very special thank you to Dr. Patrick Renick and his nurses at Graham Medical Clinic for many years of kindness and care as Edward’s family physician.
Local services will be 1 pm Thursday, May 31, 2018 at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 30, 2018, from 5-7 pm also ½ prior to services.

John Henry Shaw
Canton- John Henry Shaw, 88, of Canton passed away at 4:50 PM Saturday May 26, 2018 at Graham Hospital in Canton.
He was born April 2, 1930 at Cuba the son of Ralph H. and Dorothy A. (Hall) Shaw. He married Shirley Mae Cooper on December 26, 1948 at the Cuba Christian Church. She survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Debbie (Jerry) Conner of Macomb and Betsy (Ron) Mayall of Canton, four grandchildren, Todd Conner, Shanna Conner, Chad Mayall and Sara Mayall, and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
John graduated from Cuba schools. He served in the US Navy from 1948-1950 where he went to electrical engineering school. John worked for AMAX Coal Corporation for 39 years in the electrical engineering department.
John was a member of the Cuba Christian Church where he had served as deacon and elder. He was also a member of the Cuba Masonic Lodge #534. John had served as president of the AMAX 20 year club, president of the Mining Electrical Group of Southern Illinois, and on board of directors of Open Pit Mining Association.
A private graveside service will be held on Wednesday May 30th at the Cuba Cemetery with Pastor Mike Arnett officiating. Burial will be in Cuba Cemetery with military services conducted by the Cuba American Legion Russell Smith Post 533. Visitation will be held from 5-7 PM Tuesday May 29th at the Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Cuba. A Masonic Service will be held at 7:00 PM following the visitation. Edward R. Reed
Canton - Edward R. Reed, 56, passed away on Friday, May 25, 2018 at Graham Hospital Emergency Room.
He was born on August 7, 1961 in Canton to Raymond and Beatrice (Brown) Reed. They preceded him in death.
Ed worked as a dispatcher for Canton and Farmington Police Departments and later became a Fairview Police officer on April 1, 1991. He also worked in Avon and London Mills and as a Canton auxiliary officer.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 31, 2018 at 10 am at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton. A memorial dinner will be hosted by the Fairview Cafe and the American Legion at 1 pm at the Legion.
Cremation rites have been accorded and the burial of the ashes will be at the White Chapel Memory Gardens in Canton.

Canton – Richard Stanfel, 72, of Courtyard Estates in Canton, passed away at 11:12 am May 27, 2018 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. He was born on July 17, 1945 in Canton to August and Margaret (Eyerly) Stanfel. Surviving are two brothers; William Stanfel of Fargo, N.D, and Dave Stanfel of Livermore, CA. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Michael.
Richard was a custodian at Dickson Mounds Museum in Lewistown. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and a Knight of Columbus. Richard loved to socialize and one of his favorite places was the American Grill.
Services will be 11 am Friday, June 1 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church where visitation will be ½ hour prior to services. Orville W. Clark
Canton - Orville W. Clark, 89, of Canton, passed away at 1:55 AM on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at Graham Hospital. He was born May 8, 1929 in rural Canton to Sherman and Ruth (Lingenfelter) Clark. He married Harriet Corbin on June 24, 1950, she proceeded him in death August 29, 1985. He later married Elizabeth A. Bohannon on July 11, 1987, she survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Judy (Bill) Kemper of Canton, Janet (Tom) Rosinski of Scottsdale, Arizona, and one son, John Clark of Peoria, IL, and two stepdaughters, Gail (Dan) Ludwigsen of Lake Zurich, IL and Sharon (Dave) Key of Morton, IL. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Joshua (Kayleigh) Kemper, Kara (Dan) Fitzjarrald, Amanda (Cory) Nolan, and Rachel Rosinski and three great-grandchildren, Kate and Jack Fitzjarrald and Francis Kemper. He is survived by five step-grandchildren, Sarah and Timothy Ludwigsen, Emily and Lindsey Key, and David Kemper and four great step-grandchildren.
Orville was proceeded in death by his parents and two brothers, Harold and Harry M. Clark.
He was employed by Caterpillar, Inc. for 39 years in Peoria and Mapleton and retired in April 1986. He was a Blood Donor of 165 pints (20 gallons). He was a member of First Christian Church in Canton where he served as Deacon and in various leadership positions including Chairman of the Property Committee. He was a member of the FOC Sunday School class and men’s Tuesday morning bible study group. He also served as Director and Treasurer of East Elm Apartments.
Orville loved his Lord and family dearly. He will be most remembered for his faith, sense of humor, amazing memory, honesty, and kind heart.
Services will be held at 10 AM on Friday, May 25, 2018 at Sedgwick Funeral Homes & Crematory in Canton, IL. The Elders of the First Christian Church, Kevin Dearing, Don Heller, and Norman Pollitt will officiate. Burial will follow the services at Bethel Cemetery in Rural Canton, IL. Paul Rutherford
Blyton – Paul Rutherford, 90, of Blyton passed away at 5:35 am Saturday, May 19, 2018 at Sunset Manor Nursing Home in Canton. He was born on June 4, 1927 in Blyton to Warren and Susie (Paul) Rutherford. Paul married Nelda Walker on June 2, 1951 in Burlington, IA. She preceded him in death on April 16, 2015. Also preceding him in death were his parents and two brothers; Gene and Perry. Surviving are three nieces; Laura (Steve) Nuttal, Carol Rutherford, and Tina Rutherford, and several cousins.
Paul retired from IHC as a plow builder after 32 years. After retiring he worked for “Chadco” in Bushnell for several years. Paul was a 50 year member of both the Masonic and Moose Lodges. Paul was a very devoted husband to Nelda and they loved to travel. They had visited most of the United States. He also loved to fish especially in the Spoon River.

Cole L. Miller
Cuba- Cole L. Miller, 16, of Cuba, passed away Wednesday May 16, 2018 at his home.
He was born November 2, 2001 in Peoria, the son of Landon and Tricia (Haseley) Miller. Survivors include his parents, one brother, Luke Miller, maternal grandparents, David and Patricia Haseley of Niantic, paternal grandparents, Eldon and Charlene Miller of Cuba, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, June Miller, and his great grandparents.
Cole was a sophomore at Cuba High School where he was active in football, baseball, and band, and was also an honor student. He was a member of the Smithfield Up and Coming 4-H group where he showed cattle, and was a member of the Cuba FFA. He enjoyed playing the guitar, saxophone, and piano. He loved working on the family farm, along with taking care of cattle, fishing, hunting, riding 4 wheelers, snow mobiles, and driving his pickup truck. Most of all he loved hanging out with his brother Luke.
A private family funeral service will be held and burial will be in Baughman Cemetery at rural Smithfield. Memorial contributions may be made to the Smithfield Up and Coming 4-H group, the Cuba FFA, or the Cuba High School Athletic Department. Kenneth E. Derry
Kenneth E. Derry, 89, of El Paso, IL, formerly of Macomb and Ipava, IL, passed away at 6:25 am on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at Heritage Manor El Paso. He was born on May 26, 1928 in Ipava, the son of Leonard and Nellie (Cleer) Derry. Kenneth married Doris Lalicker on August 14, 1949 in Ipava, IL. She survives.
Also surviving are his three sons, John (and Jane) Derry of Brea, CA, James (and Sandy) Derry of Bloomington, IL and Mark (and Cindy) Derry of Lisle, IL, daughter, Joann (and Tom) Prunty of Glen Ellyn, IL, 11 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his infant brother, Albert Derry.
Kenneth was a payroll clerk and purchasing agent for Peabody Coal, ASARCO coal companies and LTD Industries in Lewistown, IL. He later worked for Walmart in Macomb, retiring in 1998.
He served in the Illinois National Guard.
Kenneth was a member of the Berean Christian Church in Ipava, Maple Avenue Christian Church in Macomb, and Eastview Christian Church in Bloomington, IL.
Services will be held at 11 am on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria, IL. Cremation rites will be accorded following the service. Brad Prunty and Brian Prunty will be officiating. A visitation will take place 1 hour prior to the service on Saturday. Interment will be in the Ipava Cemetery at a later date. Barbara Whitney
Bryant – Barbara Ann Whitney, 83, of Bryant, flew to heaven at 12:39 PM on Monday, May 14, 2018 at Graham Hospital surrounded by her family. She was born on October 13, 1934 in Peoria, IL to Wayne and Zelma (Logsdon) Slater. She married Richard Whitney on August 5, 1950 in Canton, IL. He preceded her in death on August 27, 2001.
Barbara was also preceded in death by her parents; one son, Thomas Whitney; two grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; three brothers; and one son-in-law, Carl.
Surviving are four children, Sherrie (Steve) Nebergall of St. David, Rick (Janet) Whitney, Penny (Bob) Wight of Bryant, and Tina (James) Whitney-Parrish of Canton; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Wayne (Diane) Slater of Canton; and four sisters, Selma (Stan) Formhals of Lewistown, Karen Murphy of Canton, Nancy (Larry) Sprague of Canton, and Coco Stokes of Canton.
Barbara was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother. She also was a foster grandmother for over 20 years for Headstart. Barbara graduated as an LPN from Spoon River College. She was a member at St. David Church of the Nazarene and also a member of the genealogy society and royal neighbors. Barbara enjoyed her family, crocheting, flowers, her church, helping kids, and entering items at the Fulton County Fairs.

Virginia Lynch
Cuba- Virginia K. “Ginger” Lynch, 72, of Cuba, passed away at 2:30 PM Thursday May 10, 2018 at Graham Hospital.
She was born January 26, 1946 at Springfield, the daughter of Alva “Al” L. and Helen L. (Tippett) Power. She married Harold Lynch. Survivors include four children, Rod (Debbie) Lynch of Cuba, Ronnie (Jalyn) Lynch of Cissna Park, Susie (Russell) Johnson of Cuba, and Harry (Becky) Lynch of Fiatt, ten grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, two brothers, Ronald D. (Norma) Power of Pana, and Terry L. (Sherrie Leezer) Power of Petersburg, one brother in law, Robert Altig of Greenview, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, and three sisters.
Ginger worked as the housekeeping director at the former Canton Nursing Center. She enjoyed being a farm wife, and loved cooking and baking. She enjoyed roller skating, music and dances, and racing horses.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday May 15th at Oakland Cemetery at Petersburg, with Pastor Mike Arnett officiating. Alma L. Wilson
Canton – Alma L. Wilson, 83, of Canton passed away at 12:37 am Wednesday, May 09, 2018 at her granddaughter’s house. She was born on January 25, 1935 to Russell and Helen (Brant) Cook. Alma married Robert L. Wilson on September 4, 1964 in Canton. He preceded her in death on December 22, 2000. Also preceding her in death were her parents, son Bobby Alan Wilson, daughter-in-law Leigh Murphy, brother Charles Cook, sister Mildred Williams, and one great-grandchild. Surviving are 4 children; Lillian (late Kenneth) Young, Russell (Tammy) Murphy, Bobby Murphy, and Larry (Kim) Murphy all of Canton, brother Robert Cook of Indiana, 2 sisters; Ruth Bohannon and Nancy Bishop both of Canton, 14 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Her granddaughter Kaylee Kumer has been her special care taker.
Alma was the owner of Wilson Seamless Gutters in Canton.

Linda Russell
Linda Lucille (Davison) Russell, age 64 was known to those she touched for her loving heart, gentle spirit and overflowing generosity. Sadly after a few evenings of uncertainty, Linda took her last earthly breaths and passed peacefully in her sleep. She was surrounded throughout the day by her beloved family. Linda decided to meet Jesus on Sunday, May 6th 2018, 6:23 PM at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria Illinois. Although we are saddened by this loss we believe with great certainty she was greeted with open arms by both parents along with a playful welcome nuggie from her older brother Bill.
Linda was born in Monmouth, IL on June 5, 1953 to Harrison William C. Davison and L. Irene (Courtney) Davison of Canton. She was married to Chuck Russell for 42 years. Together they built a family, a home and a lifetime of memories in the village of Brereton, IL.
Linda is survived by her husband, Chuck Russell of Brereton, IL; one son, Brian (Annette) Russell of Mahomet, IL; six grandchildren, Brenton Rhodes & Bryson Russell of Brereton, IL, Brandon Alford of Savoy, IL, Cirena Russell of Bartonville, IL, and Marissa Alford & Bryan (Junior) Russell of Mahomet, IL; one great-granddaughter, Aria Alford of Savoy, IL; one sister, Sandra (William) Long of Vermont, IL; and sister- in- law Jane Davison of Lewistown, IL; and also several loved nieces (great nieces), nephews (great nephews) and cousins.
She was preceded in death by both parents, one brother, William “Bill” Claude Davison, and other beloved cousins, aunts, and uncles.
Those blessed by Linda’s presents needed to plan for an entire day of adventure. She was always willing to stop at a last-minute yard sale, Family Dollar or Chinese buffet. On any given morning one could find her in the kitchen making some kind of delicious treat to share with a neighbor or cherished family member. She gave selflessly of her time and showered everyone she loved with kindness. Linda was a member of His River of Life Church in Liverpool, enjoyed taking care of her family as a homemaker, and was an avid gardener. She enjoyed summers of fishing, decorating the yard and watching Dr. Phil with her puppies.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at Sedgwick Funeral Homes & Crematory in Canton, where visitation will be held on Friday, May 11, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Derek Jacobus
Derek Clarke Jacobus, 43, of Lewistown, IL passed away, Sunday May 6, 2018 at Graham Hospital in Canton after a long year and a half hard-fought battle with cancer. With the support of family and friends by his side, Derek left to be with the Lord. Derek was born on May 3rd, 1975 in Peoria.
He is survived by his father David (Carolyn) Jacobus, brother Aaron (Amy) Jacobus, sister Amy (Curtis) Rushing, sisters Candace (Galen) Hanson and Carrie (Nick) Braden, and brother Derek (Cassie) Juliusson. Also surviving are nieces Blair Jacobus and Peyton Rushing, and nephews Sage and Wyatt Rushing.
While attending Lewistown High School, Derek was an active FFA member, participated in football, basketball, and track, and worked on his family farm. He graduated in 1993. After high school, Derek received his Associates Degree in Ag Science from Spoon River College in 1995. He then followed his dream, and returned to farming.
Derek was an active part of the community serving 10 years as the Fulton County Fair Board Director, was a trustee official for Lewistown township, and President of the Northern Illinois Colt Racing Association.
No secret to the people who loved him, Derek loved life. His uncanny way of seeing things clearly and knowing just what to do helped him succeed in every area of his life. From race horses, to farming, hunting, and agriculture, Derek saw beauty in everything. For those of us left behind we will remember him for his quick smile, hard work, strength, intellect, and his ability to see everything in a positive light. Above all his main priority in life was helping others, bringing him joy to help those in need, whatever that need might be. Derek... you will be greatly missed.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday May 9, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Barbara Diva Wright
Farmington – Barbara Diva Wright, 88, of Farmington, passed away at 4:15 PM on Sunday, May 6, 2018 at Farmington Country Manor. She was born on August 8, 1929 in Farmington to John and Alma (Lenzi) Rolando. She married the love of her life, Donald Wright on March 25, 1950 in Canton, IL, they were married for 68 years.
Surviving is her husband, Donald; three children, Toni (Ed) Passmore of Farmington, Diana (Wiley) Siepel of Franklin, TN, and Darren (Gina) Wright of Farmington; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one sister, Gloria McKeever of OK.
Diva was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Bud and Johnny Rolando, and one sister, Joanne Greenfield.
Diva worked with her husband at Queen Castle Dairy and Wright’s Clothing Store. She was a member of St. Matthews Catholic Church in Farmington and was also very active in Junior Women’s Club.
Services will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, May 10, 2018 at Anderson-Sedgwick Funeral Home in Farmington, IL. Deacon Gary Schultz will officiate. Burial will follow the services at Oakridge Cemetery in Farmington, IL. A visitation will be held from 5-7 PM on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at the funeral home. Carol Girard
Cuba- Carol Anne Girard, 71, of Cuba, passed away at 11:38 AM Friday May 4, 2018 at OSF St Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
She was born May 8, 1946 at Canton, the daughter of James and Doris (Bell) Murphy. Survivors include two children, Jamie Girard of Las Vegas, NV; and Leigh Anne (Rick) Rosich of Canton, two grandchildren, Elizabeth and Ryan Rosich, one brother, Robert (Carol Jane) Murphy of Cuba, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Carol Anne retired from the Illinois Secretary of State Driver’s License Facility in Canton. She was a member of the Cuba United Methodist Church, and was a board member for the Fulton and Mason Crisis Center. She served as a democratic prescient committee woman. She enjoyed attending all of her grandchildren’s functions.
Services will be held at 10:30 AM Tuesday at the Cuba United Methodist Church with Reverend Russell Rhoades officiating. Visitation will be held Monday from 5-8 PM at Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Cuba. Burial will be in Cuba Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cuba United Methodist Church. Wilford C. “Bill” Blakley
Smithfield- Wilford C. “Bill” Blakley, 77, of Smithfield, passed away Friday May 4, 2018 at his home.
He was born October 16, 1940 at Bernadotte, the son of Harry and Margaret (Deakin) Blakley. He married Andrea Wallace on February 11, 1967 at Cambridge. She survives with two daughters, Kim (Don) Ward of Canton, and Erin Blakley of Smithfield, three grandchildren, Nicole and Brittany Kline, and Tim Ward, one brother, Larry (Lori) Blakley of Ipava, and three step brothers, Ronald Henderson of East Peoria, Donald Henderson of Moline, and Richard Henderson of East Peoria. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Glenn Blakley, and one sister, Nancy Blakley.
Bill worked for the TP&W Railroad and the Santa Fe Railroad before retiring. He served in the United States Army and Navy. He was a member of the Bernadotte Historical Society.

Shirley Harman
Trivoli-Shirley E. Harman, 85, passed away on Thursday, May 3, 2018 at Farmington Country Manor.
She was born on August 1, 1932, in Trivoli, to Frank and Lida (Bitner) Clauson. They preceded her in death.
She married Gilbert Harman on March 16, 1956, in Farmington. He preceded her in death on April 1, 2016.
Also preceding her in death are four brothers, Cecil, Elden, Dean, Don and one sister, Melva Dorothy Geltmaker.
Surviving is one sister, Velda Faye Plumer of Maquon and many nieces and nephews.
She was a member of Farmington Methodist Church and Rebekah Lodge #155. She taught nine years in the rural schools in Peoria County, Oaks Grove #149 and Birds Corners. For 27 years she taught at Bartonville Grade School. After retirement she became active in her church. She served as president of the United Methodist Women for 15 years as well as other areas of the church. She was also on the Trivoli Township Cemetery Board from its beginning until her health forced her retirement. She had always been Gilberts helper on the farm from driving a tractor or truck, feeding cattle and book keeping.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at 11 am at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton with a visitation one hour prior at the funeral home.
Burial will follow at the Oak Ridge Cemetery in Farmington.

Angela Livingston Walker
East Peoria-Angela Livingston Walker, 40, passed away on Wednesday, May 2, 2018, at the OSF St Francis Emergency Room in Peoria.
She was born on February 12, 1978 in Peoria to Mark and Annette (Marchand) Livingston. Her mother preceded her in death.
Surviving is her father, Aunts, Susan Livingston, Cinda Wegner, Theresa Shelton, Sharon Garber, Carole Ann Couch, Uncles, John Livingston Jr, Joseph Marchand, Wilbert Marchand Jr, her fiancé Rocky Gibson and several cousins.
Angela was an avid animal lover and had been breeding dogs and was expecting a litter soon. She loved her dog Fancy Pants and her cat Baby.
A visitation will be held on Monday, May 7, 2018, from 5-7 pm at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Metamora at 11 AM.

Canton-Lois V. Kopajetich, 97, passed away on Wednesday, May 2, 2018, at Pekin Manor.
She was born on March 26, 1921 in Reed City, IL to Leonard and Susie (Westerfield) Maple. They preceded her in death.
She married Andrew J. Kopajetich on March 1, 1942. He preceded her in death on November 14, 1994.
Surviving are her children Judy Ernst of East Peoria, Andy (Barbara) Kopajetich of Springfield, OH, two grandchildren, Emily (Fiancé Ken) Lane, Chad (Stephanie) Lane and two great grandchildren, Tyler and Allie Lane.
Also preceding her in death is one brother and three sisters.
She was a member of 1st Baptist Church in Canton.
Cremation rites have been accorded and there will be a burial of the ashes at St Joseph Cemetery in Canton at a later date.

Frances Marie Husted
Frances Marie Husted, age 92 of Macomb, IL, formerly of Astoria, passed away at 7:05 pm Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at The Elms in Macomb, IL. She was born on November 13, 1925 in Quiver Township, Illinois, near Topeka, the daughter of Clyde and Bessie (Roof) Morris. She married Andrew Schaad on January 20, 1946. She later married Jack D. Husted on February 21, 1953 in Havana, IL. He preceded her in death on October 22, 1998.
Frances was also preceded in death by her parents and one brother.
Surviving are her daughter, Mary Suter of Springfield, IL, two sons, David Schaad of Springfield, IL and Kenneth Husted of Pinckneyville, IL, seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, three half-brothers; Wayne Morris of Ft. Jones, CA, Don Morris of Cortey, CO, and Kenneth Morris of Quincy, MA, and three half-sisters; Mary Lou Brunson of Texas, June Wilson of Marsland, NE, and Freida Perkins of Ceresco, MI.
Frances was a telephone operator for 17 years.
She was a member of The Royal Neighbors of America since 1941 and a member of the Astoria American Legion Post #25 Auxiliary.
Services will be held on Monday, May 7th at 11:00 am at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria, IL. Pastor Don Southerd will officiate. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the Mason City Cemetery, Mason City, IL. Memorials may be made to the Leukemia Foundation.

Dave “Link” Lingenfelter
Banner – Dave “Link” Lingenfelter, 64, of Banner, passed away at 1:56 PM on Monday, April 30, 2018 at his residence. He was born on August 17, 1953 in Canton to Lawrence and Erma (Lillie) Lingenfelter. He married the love of his life, Janet Ewing on October 4, 1980 in Banner. She survives.
Surviving are three step-children, Douglas Bick, Chris Powell, and Leighann Brady; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; one sister, Phyllis Crotzer; and several nieces and nephew’s.
Link was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Larry Lingenfelter.
Link was retired and enjoyed being with friends and family. He was known as Grampy to his grandkids. Link loved spending time with Janet at their property. He was a member of the Canton American Legion and was an avid Cardinals fan.
Link served in the United States Navy.

Carroll E. Beatty
Carroll E. Beatty, 83, of Cuba, IL, passed away at 8:42 pm on Monday, April 30, 2018 at Graham Hospital in Canton, IL. He was born on October 23, 1934 in Cuba, IL, the son of Hiram and Nellie (Shawgo) Beatty. Carroll married Mary Ellen Marquis on August 12, 1960 in Rushville, IL. She preceded him in death on March 3, 2018.
Also preceding him in death are his 2 sister, Midra Markley and Mary Edith Beam and his brother, Charlie Beatty.
Surviving are his two children, Ruth Ann (and Andy) Schoof of Cuba, IL and Mark (and Jenny) Beatty of Lewistown, IL, and four grandchildren; Austen (and Brittany) Schoof, Zach Zimmerman, Zoe Zimmerman, and Noah Beatty.
Carroll was a letter carrier for the US Postal Service in Canton, IL for 29 years, retiring in 1993.
He was a Untied States Army Veteran.
Carroll loved his John Deere Antique tractors, spending time with his grandchildren, telling stories, camping and traveling. He never met a stranger and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.
Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, May 4, 2018 in the Cuba Cemetery. A visitation will take place on Friday, from 1:00-2:30 p.m. at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria, IL. Memorials may be made to the Clayberg Nursing Home in Cuba, IL.

Richard “Dick” A. Davis
Richard “Dick” A. Davis, 65, of Astoria, IL, passed away at 9:48 am on Sunday, April 29, 2018 at his home. He was born on Thursday, February 6, 1953 in Canton, IL, the son of Whitney and Norma (Siler) Davis. Dick married Jody Fisher-Welker on October 26, 1996 at their home in Astoria. She survives.
Also surviving are his 3 sons, Brandon L. Welker, Whitney J. (and wife Jordyn) Davis and Chase R. (and fiancée Lyndsey) Davis, all of Astoria, his daughter, Brandy Welker of Astoria, 10 grandchildren, Tyson McGinnis, Addeline McGinnis, Keltyn Foster, Aleah McGinnis, Donnie Welker, Emma Welker, Aubri Welker, Paisley Davis, Pyper Davis and Jessa Davis, 2 brothers, Mike (and wife Peg) Davis of Rushville, IL and Jon Davis of Florida, and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded by his parents and sister, Jill Elliott.
Dick worked at International Harvester for 10 years. He then worked construction and became a Union Carpenter. As a carpenter, Dick became a Carpenter Superintendent for River City Construction, where he proudly worked for 26 years and retired from in 2012.
Dick enjoyed car shows, camping, his garden, riding his Harley, bowling, mushrooming and all of his family and friends.
A service will be held at 7 pm on Thursday, May 3, 2018 at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria. Pastor Ben Murray will be officiating. A visitation will be held 4 to 7 pm on Thursday, May 3, 2018 at the funeral home in Astoria. Cremation rites will be accorded after the service on Thursday. Memorials may be made to the Astoria Fire and Rescue Squad.
Martin Rosenswipe
Canton – Martin Rosenswipe, 82, of Canton passed away at 11:35 pm, Friday, April 27, 2018 at Heartland Health Care Center in Canton. He was born on April 10, 1936 in St. David to Martin and Mary (Hendricks) Rosenswipe. Martin married Rosalee Taylor on June 2, 1957 in Canton. She preceded him in death on November 4, 2010. Also preceding him in death were his parents, son Gary Rosenswipe, grandson Martin Rosenswipe II, one brother, and one sister. Surviving is his son David Rosenswipe of Canton, grandson David Rosenswipe Jr, and sister Violet Wheeler.
Martin worked at Caterpillar for 33 years, retiring in July 1991. The first 5 years he worked at the East Peoria foundry and then transferred to Mapleton. He was a veteran of the Air Force serving during peace time and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Canton.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday May10, 2018 at 5 p.m. at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton., visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service, A time of fellowship and food will follow the service at the American Grill in Canton.
Burial with Military Honors will be held on June 2, 2018 at Greenwood Cemetery in Canton.
