Robert Terry
St. David – Robert Dale Terry, 76, of St. David, passed away at 6:53 PM on Sunday, December 3, 2017 at Graham Hospital E.R. He was born on October 27, 1941 in Rushville to William Walter and Hester (Courtney) Terry. He married Nancy Malone on May 9, 1963 in Fulton County. She survives.
Also surviving are four children, Tessi (Eddie) Davis of Conyers, GA, Kimberly (Donnie McKavitt) Terry of Farmington, Bobby Terry of St. David, and Terra (Ryan) Malott of Lewistown; three grandchildren, Austin Jacob (Beth) Davis, Taylor Grace Malott, and Brady Ryan Malott; one brother, Richard (Crystal) Terry of Canton; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; and beloved pet, Sophie Marie. He loved spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, James Eugene Terry, William Edward Terry, Walter Wayne Terry, and three sisters, Nola Mae, Barbara Ellen, and Norma Lee. He was well loved and will be so missed by his brother Dick.
Robert worked as a master mechanic, transmission specialist, and service manager for many years. He served the Fulton County area for many years and also worked at Topline Auto Parts. Robert enjoyed working with people, could fix anything, and loved to take his 64 Ford Fairlane to car shows.
Robert served in the United States Army from September 1959 – August 1965.
Celebration of life/memorial service/luncheon will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at St. David Optimist Club. Cremation rites will be accorded with Sedgwick Funeral Homes & Crematory in Canton, IL. Memorials can be made to Buckheart Fire Department or St. David Optimist Club.
