Thomas L. Ashley

Canton – Thomas L. Ashley, 66, of Canton, passed away at 5:10 PM on Sunday, July 2, 2017 in Canton. He was born on May 17, 1951 in Canton, the son of Charles and Donna (Van Liew) Ashley. He married the love of his life, LuAnne Miles, on May 30, 1992 at Wiley Lutheran Church in Ellisville. She Survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Cory (Carrie) Ashley and Zachary (Kim) Ashley; four sisters, Lynn (Michael) Kozubal of Tucson, AZ, Deborah (John) Bates of Canton, Patrice (David) Edgar of Troy, IL, and Beth Ashley of Tucson, AZ; one brother, Donald (Marty) Ashley of Tucson, AZ; four grandchildren, Bryant Ashley, Tucker Ashley, Will Ashley, and Ava Ashley; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Thomas was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Milissa Ashley, Cheryl Hilton, and Pam Neely, and one brother, Mitchell Ashley.

Thomas retired from the Canton School District. He had a passion for motorcycles and enjoyed his beloved dog Jasmine.

Thomas served as a helicopter gunner in the Vietnam War with the United States Army.

Graveside services will be at Shields Chapel Cemetery in rural Canton on Monday, July 10, 2017 at 1:00 PM with military honors. Rev.David Meader will officiate.
