Canton – Margaret A. Elliott, 97, of Canton, passed away Monday July 24, 2017 at Heartland Health Care in Canton.
She was born on April 26, 1920, in Bryant to Nicholas A. and Grace Mae (Freeman) Porter.
She married Harry C. Reeves in Burlington Iowa in April, 1940 he procced her in death, she later married Hobart Elliott in April, 1960 in Galesburg, he proceeded her death on July 12, 1979.
Surviving are three children, Nancy (Jack) Rudd of Glasford, Harry (Patricia) Reeves of Salmon Idaho, and Daniel (Susan) Reeves of Waller TX, eight grandchildren, Jack (Beth) Rudd Jr., David (Tifany) Rudd, George (Tina) Rudd, Rebecca (Bart) Stephanision, Tammy (Wynn) Clementson, Matthew (Jessica) Reeves, Sara Woody, and Michelle (D.J.) McJunkin, two sisters Wanda Nelson of Visalia CA, Harriett Cramer, she is also survived by many great-grandchildren and several great great- grandchildren.
Proceeding her in death are her parents, four brothers, and two sisters.
Margaret owned and operated the Glasford Market for 12 years, she was the office secretary for the Trinity Lutheran Church in Canton for 8 years, where she was also a member, she was a member of the Eastern Star Philippine Chapter #413 and served as a past Matron, she was also a member of the Historical and Genealogy Society for many years.
Graveside services will be held at the White Chapel Memory gardens in Canton on Friday July 28, 2017 at 11 a.m. the Reverend Micah Garnett will officiate.
