Clair D. “Bud” Lafary
Cuba- Clair D. “Bud” Lafary, 82, of Cuba passed away at 11:15 PM Thursday at the Clayberg Nursing Center in Cuba.
He was born July 3, 1935 at Smithfield the son of Clair L. and Ina (Chenoweth) Lafary. He first married Donna Mustread. He later married Nancy (Stockham) Shaw on July 1, 1971 at rural Lewistown. She survives. Also surviving are five children, Rick Lafary of Lewistown, Deanna Lafary Whitmer of Canton, Cindy (John) Stumph of Pittsfield, Matt (Teresa) Shaw of Cuba and Sally Shields of Canton, three sisters, Virginia Wilson of Smithfield, Wilma Ross of Swayzee, IN; and Thelma (Harold) Miller of Smithfield, twelve grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, eight great great grandchildren, and his cat George. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, one great grandchild, two brothers and two sisters.
Bud was a lifelong farmer. He enjoyed his family especially his grandchildren and neighborhood children.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday at the Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Cuba with Pastor Ellen Dodd officiating. Burial will be in Baughman Cemetery at rural Smithfield. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the memorial home. Memorial contributions may be made to Clayberg Nursing Center or Cuba Senior Center.
