Vera M. Krohe
Vera M. (Clayberg) Krohe, 86, of Cuba Illinois passed away at 12:40 p.m. Thursday, February 18 at Graham Hospital in Canton.
She was the third daughter of Leo and Helen (Donaldson) Clayberg. Vera married Franc Krohe October 21, 1953, in Cuba. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Franc, and her sisters.
Vera is survived by their children Robbie S. Ball (Jay Waughtel) Cuba; Rebecca A. Pearsall (Darrel) Moline; grandchildren, Michael K. Crawford (Katie), Katie M. Birkland (Aaron), Jaime L. Hess (Taylor), Meghan H. Wilson (Scott), Brion Pearsall, Jordan Ball; great-grandchildren, Andrew, Hannah and Noah Birkland, Liam Crawford, Gannon Wilson, Logan Hess. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were devoted and lovingly called her Granny and GG.
Vera was a life-long resident of Cuba, a graduate of Cuba High School and attended Knox College in Galesburg. Vera worked for the Cuba Building and Loan Association as an executive secretary, and as the Manager of the Cuba branch for Gem City Savings and Loan. She assisted her daughter Robbie at Marshall True Value in Cuba for many years till the store closing.
Vera was an active and dedicated member of the Chapter CB PEO, the American Legion Auxiliary, and Cuba United Methodist Church. Vera served as the choral director at CUMC for many years and was recognized, along with her sisters, for their piano and vocal achievements.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday at the Cuba United Methodist Church with Reverend Kenneth Harris officiating. Burial will be in Cuba Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Cuba United Methodist Church. To send on line condolences visit .
