– Aubrey (A.P.) Baker, 88, passed away February 7, 2016 at Red Oaks
Assisted Living in Canton. He was born February 3, 1928 to Berniece
Baker Lockard and raised in Astoria by his grandparents David and Ida
Baker. He married Mary Louise Van Horn March 17, 1946.
His wife and grandson preceded him in death.
Aubrey
is survived by three children, Audrey Brown of Las Vegas, NV, Steve
(Nancy) Baker of Waterloo, IL, and Ted (Dorri) Baker of Norris, IL; four
grandchildren, Michael Brown, Jeremy Baker, Nathan Baker, and Staci
Baker; and his pride and joy great grand-daughter Aubrey Elizabeth
Baker. His extended family includes sister in law Lilly Steele and half
brother Gene (Connie) Lockard.
Aubrey
was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving with Military Police in the
Philippines. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Canton and
American Legion.
Cremation
will be handled by Murphy-Sedgwick Memorial Home in Canton, and no
services are planned per his request. He has requested any memorials be
made to Meals on Wheels.
