Beverly A. Roberts

Fairview–Beverly A. Roberts, 81, of Fairview, passed away on Wednesday, February 24, 2016, at the Graham Hospital in Canton.
She was born on November 4, 1934 in Colchester to Joseph and Susie (Wayland) Powell.  They preceded her in death.
She married Gary Lee Roberts on October 30, 1954 in Colchester.  He survives.
Also surviving are four children, Diana Drinkwater of Fairview, Jeffrey (Missy) Roberts of Abingdon, Timothy, Kelly) Roberts of Lewisville, Texas, Angela (Dennis) Baker of Hannibal, MO, brothers, David Powell of Colorado Springs, Gary Powell of Colchester, Danny Powell of Colchester, Lyle Powell of Good Hope, sisters, Kay Hocker of Madison WI, Louella (Phil) Reno of Bushnell, thirteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her brother Bruce Powell and sister, Barbara Schoonover.
Beverly retired in 1999 from Spoon River Valley School as a cook.  She was a member of the Fairview Methodist Church and the American Legion Roy Miller Post Auxiliary in Fairview.  She traveled with her husband and children to Germany during his military career to live.
Cremation rites have been accorded and a graveside burial of the ashes will be held at the Fairview Cemetery at a later date.
Oaks-Hines Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
