She was born in Peoria, IL. on December 26, 1941 to William Edward Jones and Mary “Maxine” Vrell. They preceded her in death, as well as one daughter Carol “Denise” Hinderhan, two grandchildren: Randi Lynn Siegfried and Michael O. Hallor, and four siblings Ester “Francine” Jones, Robert L. Jones, Mary Faye Wilcoxen, and Jacquetta M. Shumaker.
Carol first married Frank Paul Hallor Jr. on December 29, 1956 in Tate, Mississippi. They had 6 children together. She later married Clayton Slane on November 15, 1975 in Peoria. IL. They adopted one child together. He preceded her in death.
She is survived by 6 children, Rick (Carol) Hallor of Peoria, IL, Cynthia Schultz of Farmington, IL, Rhonda (Randy) Siegfried of Canton, IL, Frank “Speedy” (Misty) Hallor III of Canton, Carrie (Todd) Jarnagin of Canton, IL, and Noah Slane of Canton, IL, 15 grandchildren, Ricky, Christopher, AJ, Michael C., Preston, Gabriel, Brandy, Tonya, Brandon, Amanda, Seth, Tori, Nathaniel, Allison, and Emarie, 25 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Carol was a devoted homemaker and the unwavering backbone of her family. She lived her life with grace, strength and selfless love. Her home was a place of warmth, comfort and endless support – a reflection of the deep care she poured into every aspect of her family.
Carol was the heart and soul of her family. She will be deeply missed by all.
A funeral service will be held at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton, IL on Tuesday, September 9, 2025 at noon with a visitation to be held one hour prior at the funeral home. Burial will immediately follow at High Bridge Cemetery in Dunfermline, IL.
