William T. “Bill” Hand, 74, of Dunfermline, passed away at 8:17 PM on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at his residence. He was born on April 7, 1947 in Canton, a son of Chester and Pearl (Miller) Hand. He married Lennie Shreffler on April 24, 1971 at the Wesley United Methodist Church in Canton. She survives.
Also surviving are his two daughters, Kim (Bob) Dutton of Mahomet; Candy (Ron) Hanlin of Fairview; eight grandchildren, Megan Rumler, Tessa Schifferer, Hannah Shubert, Austin Kidd, Jenna Hanlin, Lexi Hanlin, Madyson Dutton, Brooklynn Dutton, and six great-grandchildren, Trinity Faith, Cade Stewart, Adelina Shubert, Bentley Kidd, Aubree Kidd, and Grace Schifferer.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Jerry, Jim, and Denny; two sisters, Joan, and Sandy.
He worked and retired from Caterpillar after 32 ½ years of service, he was proudly a United States Navy Veteran.
Funeral services will be held at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at Sedgwick Funeral Homes & Crematory in Canton, where visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until the time of services. Cremation rites will be accorded following the services. Memorials can be made to the Department of Veteran Affairs.
