Farmington – Daniel “Bud” R. Black, 75, of Farmington, passed away at 8:22 PM on Sunday, May 23, 2021 at UnityPoint Health Methodist. He was born on November 4, 1945 in Farmington to Robert William and Hannah Marie (Hewitt) Black. He married Deborah DeWester on May 19, 1973 at the First Baptist Church in Farmington, IL. She survives.
Also surviving is one daughter, KaraLyn Black; two brothers, James (the late Dawn) Wilcoxen of Farmington and Walter (Carolyn) Black of Maitland, FL; one sister, Rosemary (the late James) Melbourne of Kewanee, IL; several nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and nephews.
Daniel worked as an assembler at Caterpillar and retired after over 30 years of service. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Farmington. Daniel enjoyed bowling, gardening, card games, puzzles, and wheel of fortune. He always had a good sense of humor.
Daniel served in the United States Army during Vietnam. During that time he was a Dog Scout Handler.
A memorial service will be held at 1 PM on Saturday, May 29, 2021 at the First Baptist Church in Farmington, IL. Rev. Jon Dainty will officiate. Casual attire is requested. Cremation rites will be accorded with Anderson-Sedgwick Funeral Home in Farmington, IL.
