Laura Ann Hughes, 50, passed away on Wednesday, May 19, 2021, at OSF St Francis in Peoria.
She was born on March 23, 1971 in Peoria to Buddy and Sharon (Hogue) Bennett.
She married Scott Hughes on February 14, 1997 in Canton. He survives.
Also surviving is her mother, Sharon Shanklin of Canton, three children, Jason Hughes of Canton, Christina (Robert) Chatterton of Pekin, Eric Hughes at home, two sisters, Roxann Snyder of Canton, Angie Welker of Elmwood and seven grandchildren, Paul, Gracey, Zavier, Trenton, Aiden, Andrew and Wyatt.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Laura worked at Sunset Manor in Canton and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Canton. She was an animal lover and enjoyed coloring in her gospel books.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, May 24, 2021 at 2 pm with a visitation one hour prior at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home and Crematory in Canton.
Burial will follow in Combs Cemetery. Memorials can be made to the family.
