Harry Edward Stufflebeam


Harry Edward Stufflebeam, 75, of Canton, passed away at 12:25 AM on Monday, May 3, 2021 at his residence, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on July 7, 1945 in Canton, a son of Seldon Snowdon and Helen Mae (Barnhart) Stufflebeam.

He loved his family very much, he was a big-hearted man, surviving are several nieces and nephews, whom he treated like his own children; one sister, Cinda (Jamie) Fitch of Canton. He had great love for baseball, especially youth baseball, which he coached for several years, die hard Chicago Cubs fan, even though they upset him a lot, big fan of the Chicago Bears football, Illini football and basketball.

He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, John and Clyde Stufflebeam, and two sisters, Garnet Bonnetto, Florence Gallien.

He graduated from Canton High School, where he was a member of the National Honor Society. He worked and retired from Caterpillar in February of 1996 after 30 ½ years of service in the Quality Control Inspection Department, and later owned and operated Diamond Memories in Canton for about 10 years. He proudly served his country during the Vietnam war in the United States Army from 1966-1969.

Per his wishes, there will be no services, cremation rites will be accorded through Sedgwick Funeral Homes & Crematory. Private family burial of ashes will take place in Apple Cemetery at a later date. Memorials can be made to the Shriner Children’s Hospital.
