Robertta R. Staples, 94, of Farmington, passed away at 4:02 PM on Monday, March 1, 2021 at Farmington Country Manor. She was born on September 1, 1926 in McCook, Nebraska to Robert and Ruth (Hall) Dukes. She married Bernard Staples on May 15, 1946 in Colbertson, NE. He preceded her in death on June 15, 2010.
Robertta is also preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Terry Dukes.
Surviving are three children, Larry (Alice) Staples, Lynda (Gary) Langen, and LeAnn Wood; seven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and one sister, Laura (David) Anderson.
Robertta worked as the treasurer at Manual High School. She was a member of the Elmwood United Methodist Church and also played the organ there for several years.
Graveside services will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at Elmwood Township Cemetery in Elmwood, IL. Pastor David Pyell will officiate. Memorials can be made to Elmwood United Methodist Church. Anderson-Sedgwick Funeral Home in Farmington, IL is in charge of arrangements.
