David J. Kahoun, 81, of Canton, passed away at 5:31 AM on Sunday, March 14, 2021 at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria. He was born on September 1, 1939 in Aurora, IL, a son of Edward and Margaret (Erath) Kahoun. He married Sharon Mitchell on August 14, 1965 in Canton. She survives.
Also surviving are his two sons, David “Ed” Kahoun of Canton; Kevin (Rendi) Kahoun of Jonesboro, Arkansas; five grandchildren, Eric, Will, John, Sam, and Kate all of Jonesboro, Arkansas.
David was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and two sisters.
He first started working as a machinist at Barbar Greene Company in Aurora, IL and retired in 2009 from Boley Tool and Machine Works in East Peoria. David served his country in the United States Army , and was a former member of the Canton Moose Lodge.
Per David’s wishes, cremation rites will be accorded through Sedgwick Funeral Homes & Crematory in Canton, IL. Burial of ashes will be held in Greenwood Cemetery in Canton, IL at a later date.
