Dennis D. Williams Sr., 76 of Lewistown passed away at 5:07 PM Monday March 1, 2021 at Unity Point Methodist in Peoria. He was born June 5, 1944 at Canton the son of Lawrence and Bertha (Todd) Williams.
He married Beverly Murphy on January 12, 1963 at New Douglas, IL. She survives along with three children, Tina (Ralph) Foose Jr. of Farmington, Dennis (Jennifer) Williams Jr. of Washington, IA; and Michelle (Justin) Hagy of Canton, one brother, Perry Williams of Rochester, fourteen grandchildren, and fifteen great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and six sisters.
Dennis retired from Caterpillar in 1997 and then was an over the road truck driver for 13 years. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Havana and also a member of the UAW Local 974. Dennis enjoyed camping, traveling, watching western movies, and collecting old knives. Church and family meant everything to Dennis.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday at the Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown with Pastor Mike Henson officiating.
Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery at Lewistown.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the memorial home. Face masks and social distancing will be required.
Memorial contributions may be made to Grace Baptist Church in Havana.
