He was born on November 5, 1926 in Canton to Thomas and Nettie (Clutter) Hurst.
He married Helen Puskarich on February 7, 1948 in Canton. She preceded him in death on October 9, 2009.
Surviving is one son, William (Rosie) Hurst of Williamsfield, four grandchildren, Keri Hurst, Terri (Troy) Billeter, Beau (Crystal) Anderson, Quinn (Lisa) Anderson, seven great grandchildren, Alyssa Swenny, Addison Scheller. Tasha Leigh (Dirk) Williams, Chloe Anderson, Isabelle Anderson, Paige Anderson, Travis (Lindsey) Billeter and five great great grandchildren, Allison Mills, Sienna Williams, Carter Williams, Oliver Billeter and Alex Reed.
He was also preceded in by one grandson, Chad Hurst and five brothers, James, Raymond, Clifford, Forest Jr and Paul.
Bob served in the U.S. Army during WWII and later worked for the City of Canton as the assistant Street Superintendent. He was a member of the Lions Club, St Mary's Catholic Church and the Canton VFW. He also farmed for several years and always enjoyed milking the cows. Bob was a very giving man and was always there to lend a helping hand.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 4, 2021 at 11 am at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home and Crematory in Canton with a visitation one hour prior.
Burial with military services will be held at the St Joseph Cemetery in Canton.
