Helen E. Blue
Helen E. Blue, 90, of Havana, IL, formerly of Astoria, IL, passed away at 7:30 pm on Monday, December 24, 2018 at the Hallmark House in Pekin, IL. She was born on March 24, 1928 in Roseville, IL, the daughter of John and Maggie (Gilruth) Harrah. Helen married Philip Blue on November 23, 1947 in Summum, IL. Phil preceded Helen in death on September 30, 2004.
She is preceded in death by her son, Rodney Blue, 2 grandsons, Jeremy and Larry James Wilson, 2 sisters, Mary Daniel and Maggie Schaefer, 3 half brothers, Ambrose Corman, Harold Corman and Neal Harrah, and 1 half sister Gladys White.
Survivors include her son, Rick (and Susan) Blue of Peoria, IL, 3 daughters, Rhonda (and Jim) Wilson of Green Valley, AZ, Anna (and Steve) Bailey of Washington, IL and Debra (and J.I.) Williams of Groveland, IL, 5 grandchildren, Jake (and Hope) Wilson, Joby (and Shane) Miller, Jed Welker, Hattie Bailey and Joel Bailey, 3 step-grandchildren, Todd (and Dana) Williams, Steve Williams and Megan Shafer, 6 great-grandchildren and 4 step-great-grandchildren.
Helen was a farmer and homemaker. She also worked at Graham Hospital in Canton, IL and Mummert Seed Company in Astoria, IL.
She was a member of the Astoria Christian Church. She attended the Summum Christian Church. She loved to garden and cook. Helen was a farm wife, who worked hard on the farm and was very family oriented.
Services will be at 11 am on Friday, December 28, 2018 at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria, IL. Pastor Darrin Fish will be officiating. A visitation will take place one hour prior to the service on Friday. Interment will be in the Sixteen Cemetery, Astoria, IL. Memorials may be made to the St. Judes Childrens Research Hospital.
