Farmington – Donald E. Wright, 88, of Farmington, went to be with his wife at 9:11 PM on Sunday, December 16, 2018 at Graham Hospital. He was born on February 21, 1930 in Canton to Shelby and Anna Mae (Flowers) Wright. He married Barbara Diva Rolando on March 25, 1950 in Canton, IL. She preceded him in death on May 6, 2018.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Richard Wright of The Woodlands, TX, and one sister, Patricia Beckner of Canton, IL.
Surviving are three children, Toni (Ed) Passmore of Farmington, IL, Diana (Wiley) Siepel of Franklin, TN, and Darren (Gina) Wright of Farmington, IL; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one brother-in-law, Robert Beckner, and one sister-in-law, Jean Wright.
Donald owned & operated the Queen Castle Dairy and Wright’s Clothing Store. He was a member of St. Matthews Catholic Church in Farmington and a lifelong member of the Farmington Moose. Donald was an original investor and board member at Farmington Country Manor, and served on the Oak Ridge Cemetery Board.
Funeral service will be held at 12 PM noon on Thursday, December 20, 2018 at St. Matthews Catholic Church in Farmington, IL, where a visitation will be held from 10-12 PM. Deacon Gary Schultz will officiate. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Farmington, IL. Memorials can be made to Farmington Rescue Squad 1100.
